We had an absolute blast at this stunning natural wonder! For just R50 per person, it was one of our top highlights along the Panorama Route.
The atmosphere was pleasantly uncrowded, allowing us to truly unwind and enjoy the multiple natural pool areas - at least five! The deeper pool at the top of the hill was a standout, perfect for a refreshing swim. The water was cool and rejuvenating, surrounded by beautiful scenery and a mini waterfall.
The deeper pool was great for swimming, with most areas shallow enough to touch the ground. The deepest part was near the mini waterfall.
Overall, this experience was totally worth it! Don't miss out on this incredible natural wonder. 10/10 would recommend!

Amazing place you can swim and braai there. But it can also be a bit dangerous in some pools, pool at the main fall is deep at some parts of it a bit scary but amazing.

Great place to unwind. R50 per person is not bad. Road needs a resurface and the entrance needs to be jacked up. The pools are clean with water from the mountains passing through. There is a well maintained braai area as well.

Not to be confused with the falls (waterfalls) which are 2km from the pools.
A nice place for a picnic break. It will be necessary to pay a small entrance to the shed at the entrance (smiling and warm welcome) that allows access to the pools. It's more of an excursion to stay there for a day than just a visit. But it's nice and you can swim in the pools even if the water is cold enough!

WOW - when I first visited this place - it was HUMMING! Such a fun place to be with folk having Braais, swimming in the pools and having super fun.
This follow up visit was depressing - all the pools are fenced off to prevent people from going in and the place was deserted and desolate.

This visit was a waste of time and money!
All the picnic facilities are filthy and dillapidated. There is no good view of the pools, and you are not allowed to swim. The garden is not taken care of, and the workers sits around doing nothing.
Toilet facilities are also falling apart.
It’s a disgrace for them to take your money, just for that. Even the pathway to the gates are full of potholes.
It is so sad that a place with so much potential goes to waste like this.

Do not trust previous reviews. The entrance fee is not worth it. Terrible facilities. Loud music playing from a taxi and drunk people.
Shocked that tourists visit this place.
No security to report to. We were sooo excited to visit, but what a terrible let down!

Cooling off the summer heat in a natural pool is the most refreshing experience. Visited the pools with another couple, it is not that deep, braaing area and outdoor seats available. Very peaceful and beautiful place. It cost about R35.00 entrance fee.

Lovely clear water pools, some picnic tables still in good condition. We paid full price of R45 to go in yet the main top pool closed off, lots of area is taped off and generally looks rundown. If it is not maintained then lower the price as you cannot expect to pay for substandard facilities

Don't know for sure - but have been there about 4-5 times in my life, and everything turned out fine. According to the Woodsman B&B Site - The Sabie area (where Mac Mac is situated) is malaria and bilharzia free.
Our last trip, we had a number of kids - ranging from 4 - 11 with us, and all was well.
