Well, let me put this in my point of views- I’m German & suprised that something like this exists. If it’s for people who take selfies & see how a typical German village looks, yep that’s how it is, however they name a few of the restaurants or houses in German words that mean no right common sense. Example, one store was called Heim House, Heim in German means : Home, so the store practically translates Home house. It’s not bad but it’s a little Odd & maybe 1-3 of the entire area speak a bit of German or speak any at all. Another sad encounter are the souvenirs shops, they do sell German product’s but it would have been nice to see it’s a handmade product that looks German but is made in that German village or hence says: Made in Namhae.
I get that some German products are ordered from overseas & sold there but not at a rip off price. Some of the stores sold French or Italian stuff, I guess that’s nice & the German bakery, was just sad. Some of its products offered are over priced & size is half if not smaller than what you might expect, the normal size is priced 3x the price. If that’s enough for you to see or do, then that’s nice but seriously if you want the whole package- just go to Europe, you get more bang for your buck! Bottom line- it’s not a whole day trip, a few hours yes but not the whole day, unless you have more plans to do during the weekend. Parking is limited there as well & I loved how you try to park while people walked around or next to your car. Yes they have German products but most of the stores sell the same product at different prices, my advice just check all of them before buying what you want. They have pensions there but maybe look for a nearby pension/hotel near to it, you might save more.

Ok, wasn't intending to like this enclave of German homes, peoples, themed stuff. But...for an island somewhat devoid of 'touristy' things that aren't nature, this was pleasantly not bad (thus five stars). In Seoul or maybe the states, this would easily be a 3 star, so please don't plan your trip around this spot.
Namhae - the southeast island is quaint, quiet and single road traffic all around. It's basically small beaches amongst the mountains and fishing 'ports'. Spots close early for dinner and many spots are pension/homestays.
So this makes this 3 to 4 block area stand out. A bunch of "German" looking homes nestled into a hillside, serving pizzas, beers, sausages and salads (and desserts). Stop by if you have time, but don't have a ton of expectation and you will enjoy it.

Food and beer are great. Ironically, despite its foundation german village is hostile to mixed couple when one of them is Asian. Truly sad. This place was very disappointin. Natives keep enough tourism for the status quo. Unfortunately, it has peaked. If trip advisor deletes again...i will fight. Is trip advisor fascist??

spent coupe of hours in German village, absolutely nice environment and its surrounding... nice cafe, houses, the carpark was pretty big, so dont have to worry about carparking.

We enjoyed our visits. We have walked around 3 different times. Lovely people, beautiful views. Kids loved the ice cream and burgers. We liked the beer and mostly friendly community. If you come here you must stop and walk around. Lovely views at the top. The leather shop is a must too if you love hand crafted well made purses & shoes.

동물원 원숭이가 되기 싫어서 거의 다 떠나고 남아있는 독일식 집들과 전혀 독일스럽지 않은 빵과 음식들의 무모함에 놀랐다. 다랭이 마을에서는 된장찌개와 멍게 비빔밥을 시켰는데 계산은 3인분. 어쩐지 밥 3개를 주길래 시골인심에 감탄까지 한 황당함.
결코 빈약하지 않은 관광자원을 빈약하고 어처구니없는 경험으로 만드는 사람들의 욕심과 어리석음.

예전에는 관광객은 많지만, 독일에서 돌아와 정착하신 광부님들과 간호사님들에 민폐가 아닐까 생각했고 식당이나 이런 것들도 부족하다는 느낌이었다면, 이젠 확실히 식당, 카페, 상점들도 확실하고, 펜션이나 숙박시설도 구분되고, 특히 기념관 같은 것이 있어 더욱 광부님들이나 간호사님들이 독일로 가게 되었던 역사를 볼 수 있어 좋았습니다.

We knew the German Village would be a big tourist trap but we couldn't resist but to stop at the scenic village. Most of the red roofed German themed buildings were pensions that complemented the beautiful seaside scenery well. All restaurants were overpriced but offered good selection of German beers and a sad attempt at its cuisine. It was a pleasant place to walk around for a bit but we should've just picked up some Paulaners at the convenience store. Since traveling to Europe was out of the question, we had to settle for this place for an international feel.

Just by change found that there is a German village in South Korea. Houses, administration, surrounding all really German like. Even the people living there speaking perfect German. Only returnee from German are allowed to live here.
We were lucky enough to just visit during "Octoberfest" time. All perfect organized. Just the music was not like in Munich. Houses placed on a hill overviewing the bay. Very nice and calm area. A bit difficult to reach there but it's a must see place when staying in South Korea.

The German village definitely looks German, but that is all it has going for it. There are authentic German beers but the food is awful. Our brats were served cold and rather tasteless. We had a cheesy potato plate, that was sweet and had way too much cheese. The food was WAY overpriced, and awful. The "bakery" had no German products.
Only go if you want to see the architecture. There is no real reason to stop.
