Really interesting visit. Fascinating to learn about what happened on the Island during occupation. Plenty of information to read, we didn’t get the audio tour so can’t comment on that. Worth a visit especially if it is raining! It is quite cool in the tunnels.

I wasn’t sure about visiting the War Tunnels as I didn’t have a great interest or knowledge of them - wow how wrong was I ! They are huge and each area is dedicated to a part of that history be it the evacuation, the rationing of food, the hospital and so so much more. When you purchase your ticket (£17) you are given a copy of an identify card belonging to a resident which you can then read their personal story along with many other peoples. The bravery and courage of the islanders and the slave workers imported from abroad was very humbling.
The trip is advertised as 1 1/2 to 2 hours - we spent 3 hours and could have stayed longer.
I learned so much in that time and would highly recommend a visit.

Wow, this was a fascinating experience that exceeded my expectations. Very easy to get to by car or frequent bus. The historic significance of the tunnels has been retained and recreated into a must see experience. Lots to see and do in the tunnels, they are well lit and it is easy to follow the prescribed route.

Very somber experience. A lot of people died building these tunnels, mostly Russian slave labour who the Germans thought were sub-human and therefore not worth considering. Having said that, it's very interesting about the occupation and how it affected local people. Take a jumper cos it's a bit nippy. Well, it is underground.

An amazing journey through the history of the German occupation. Well worth a visit, although a few more bus services would be useful.

These are so well organised and really interesting. I've been to many of these WW2 places with a much more interested hubby but this even fascinated me! Although I realised how the German invasion affected the Channel Islands but I hadn't realised just how much. You must visit if you're in Jersey

Incredible place to visit. Deeply moving and very educational. Approx 1km of tunnels underground that tell the story of Jersey during the war. Temperature is a cool and constant 10-13 degrees down there so take a warm top…even on the hottest of days. You get an identity card on your arrival which relates to one of the stories later on - nice touch. It is worth booking a ticket online beforehand to avoid queuing for tickets. A must do experience on Jersey.

Hi, has anyone got local knowledge regarding queue times? We are only staying a weekend so time is limited. Is pre purchase of tickets advisable? We arrive Aug 3rd so expecting crowds? Thank you in advance !

Hi, we went in June and we had a bit of a queue because a coach had just turned up but it soon went down. When we came out a coach load of children were waiting to go in. Get there when it opens and yes take something warm it is rather chilly down there.

It will take around 15 minutes from Liberation Square, you can hop on an Old London bus that is dedicated to taking visitors to the tunnels and returning for £6 each it also gives you some commentary and facts about the island under occupation which is quite interesting.

We went from the tunnels to Greve de Lecq. The bus routes are extensive and can be seen online. Unfortunately, on some routes they are less frequent, sometimes only one every 2 hours. Please check the Liberty bus website which was very good and well detailed. We also had the unlimited travel card £21 for 3 days and certainly got our money's worth.

Hi, Yes the underground hospital is wheelchair friendly with accessible toilet in the visitor centre.

Jersey War Tunnels is fully equipped for disabled visitors both inside the Tunnel complex and in the Visitor Centre and Café.Wheelchairs and mobility scooters are available: wheelchairs are free of charge and mobility scooters may be hired for £6. Visitors are welcome to bring their own wheelchairs and mobility scooters for use in the tunnels.

No. There is absolutely nothing that will panic you. The tunnels are light, airy and large. The floor is level, no overhangs plenty of room to stand up straight everywhere. You will enjoy it if you take a jumper or jacket to keep warm.
