Miyakojima Kaichu Park, a 30-minute drive north of Miyako Airport
It is a spot where you can see the sea of Miyakojima without going into the sea, so even if you are not good at snorkeling, it is a super convenient place where you can get that feeling if you go here.
At the entrance to the underwater park there is an aquarium with Okinawan fish and a souvenir shop, where you pay admission (adults 1,000 yen) and go down the stairs
At the main underwater facility, you can see a lot of fish through the large windows made of acrylic panels, and it was quite impressive to see big fish swimming in schools. (*Octopuses and sea snakes can also be seen.)
Also, watching the children having such a great time was very comforting.
There is a "cafe" on the site, so you may want to enjoy a relaxing meal while watching the scenery.
It is a particularly recommended spot for families with children.
There are also nearby 'Setsushio Museum', 'Ikemajima Island' and 'Shimajiri Mangrove Forest', so it's a good idea to visit them all together as one course.

I came here because I get seasick on boats, but it was more fun than I expected.
The staff were happy to tell me all sorts of things when I asked them questions, and they explained to me when rare fish appeared.
I couldn't leave the place for a while because I was worried that if I waited, another fish would come.

It's a little hard to find, but you can get there by driving along a narrow island road. It's a bit of a walk from the parking lot. However, you can see the ocean floor of Miyako without having to dive or get wet. The facility is structured like a caisson that juts out into the sea with windows, and you can see the many fish of Miyako Island, and if you're lucky, even sea turtles. The explanations by the staff were fun and well done.

This was the last place we visited on this trip. We had to walk along a narrow road for the last kilometer to reach the park, so I was a little worried if this was the right choice.
After parking the car in the parking lot, it was a short walk away and the view from above was nice. The underwater park was at the bottom of a flight of stairs, and although you could see some fish, it wasn't quite enough. I had applied for JAL's surprise option, which included admission, a meal at the restaurant, and a drink for 500 yen, but normally the admission fee alone is 1,000 yen. JAL's surprise option is a good deal after all.

If you have little kids, they will enjoy it. If the fosh doesn’t come, you won’t see much. You can come back within the day to see if some other fish came but I think it’s still too expensive.

西平安名崎へ向かう半島の左側に建っています。グラスボートに乗る予定でしたが強風で欠航が予想されたのでこの施設を選びました。
ウミガメやサメは残念ながら姿を見せてはくれませんでしたが、波が高いと海中の流れも激しいようで、魚たちが泳がずに身を任せて左右に流されて行く姿は、なかなか見られないものでした。水族館の水槽の中は穏やかですものね。オヤビッチャ率が高い日でした。
説明をしてくれていたお兄さんもテンションが高く、サービス精神旺盛でした。
時間が無くて行きませんでしたが、海岸の遊歩道もあるようでした。
ウミガメやサメは残念ながら姿を見せてはくれませんでしたが、波が高いと海中の流れも激しいようで、魚たちが泳がずに身を任せて左右に流されて行く姿は、なかなか見られないものでした。水族館の水槽の中は穏やかですものね。オヤビッチャ率が高い日でした。

長い階段を降りたら沖合100メートル深さ3mの世界が広がっていました
梅雨のはしりでしたが視界25ｍでたくさんの魚が見れました
面白い男性スタッフが色んな説明をとても熱心にしてくれます
掲示物のクイズもとても面白かったです
雨の日でも十分楽しめました

お魚が大好きなスタッフさんのおさかなへの愛を存分に感じることのできる場所です。入場料は1,000円。ぼんやりと時間があるときに見つめていたいですね。
お魚を見ているのか、お魚に見られているのかは謎ですが、いろいろなお魚を見ることができます。
ちょっとでも疑問に思うことがあって呟くと、スタッフさんがどこからともなく声をかけてくれまして、丁寧に説明していただけます。
