Rabbit Ings has to be my favourite place to walk my Dog. I'm there most days sometimes twice, I never get tired of it. Its just as nice in Winter as it is in Summer though obviously very different. In Summer you have all the lovely wildlife. It has been really well planted with wildflowers and reminds me of when I was younger when fields and meadows were plentiful. Lots of Birds and insects and you may even spot Deer wondering around. The view from the top is amazing no matter which way you look especially in Autumn when the leaves are changing. In Winter you definitely feel the weather due to the openness of the area. There are lots of pathways all on different levels or you can stay on the bottom path which is generally flat apart from a couple of steep inclines at a couple of points. There is a lake with Ducks and Swans plus tables and seating for picnics. The area itself is really well maintained. The Rangers are really friendly and helpful the carpark is a good size. There are a couple of football pitches too. There is only one bin for poo bags unfortunately which is at the beginning of the walk. It's obvious that some people can't or refuse to clean up after their dogs so watch where you're walking and like other places I walk I often come across poo bags that have just been discarded or thrown into trees.....why? ?. I have to agree with rachael343 about the lady Dog walker ( if its the same one )who allows the Dogs to run out of control with no regard for others. She doesn't clean up after them either....to busy on her phone! There are plenty of signs to remind people and the consequences if they don't. Anyway apart from that Rabbit Ings is a great place to visit. The gate opens usually around 7am and closes about 8pm in Summer.

Lovely quiet walk. Lots of wildlife around, love the mornings as they’re quiet and you might even see a deer. Just wish people would respect the place more by moving the rubbish they’ve had and picking up after dogs.

Great place for a variety of walks took Grandkids 8 and 3 both managed to walk round top path.
Great views from summit.

This is a very large country park, with lots of space. Walks can be on the flat or uphill to the summit, where there are large rocks with etchings on them and a map of places in the distance. There is a pond, and plenty of places for a picnic stop. It was a nice morning so there were plenty of people about, but lots of room to distance. In normal times there toilets, icecreams etc. so we will be visiting again as it is only a few miles from where we are.

This was our first time here at Rabbit Ings. We expected it to be busy, nope, just us and a handful of other people. The place is massive, so I reckon it won't feel crowded. Perfect for socially distancing during this pandemic.
There is a selection of walks, on the flat or hiking if you prefer. We chose to go up to the top, well worth it. Views are amazing. It is pram accessible and easy to manoeuvre, even if you want to go to the summit. Perfect for a picnic too if you fancy.
Parking is plentiful, toilets, but they are currently closed. Car park closes at 7pm. We can't wait to come back as it is literally in the middle of nowhere and so peaceful.

Arrived at 17.45 to meet a friend after work not realising that the gates closed at 19.00. We had hoped to enjoy a nice long walk and picnic at the side of the pond. We managed the picnic but will have to return to climb the hill.

Excellent for quiet walks which you can do as well as social distancing. I made it to the top which surprised me as I'm not fit at all. There are 2 football fields and quite a few benches scattered around to rest on especially at top of the hills which is handy.

My 1st visit here ,and it definitely won’t be my last.great place for a dog walk and great to see nature while exploring the vast area..quiet place and lots of different ways to walk around it

Went here for the first time on Tuesday with my son and his dog. It was a pleasant walk with seats around to have a rest and look at the lovely views from the top. There is only one dog bin which is at the beginning so if your dog does it's business just past the start you have to carry it around. There are maps around showing you the routes but doesn't show where about's you are. There are different coloured routes each a different length. Would recommend this walk to anyone not just dog lovers
