Excellent hidden gem, Frank is an informative and entertaining guide, not to mention a man obviously committed to the restoration of this rare survivor from the cold war. Well worth the trip!

Fantastic visit ! Attended with wife, son aged 15 and daughter. Great display by Frank and explanation of the UKs warning system. Teenager had a go using the communications equipment and we also watched a video. We then went into a cabin that was a recreation of the bunker. Myself and son then went down into the real bunker for a further talk (wife stayed with daughter as ladder was a bit too much for her) a fantastic tour and it takes appx 1 hr. Highly recommended

What a wonderful find on the Ayrshire coast. I didn't even know this place existed and lived relatively close for 30 years. Frank & Pete make the whole experience worthwhile & enjoyable. Limited parking & booking is essential with the limited space available. Be advised ladder climbing is necessary so wear sensible footwear. There is an above ground replica for those with access issues or people not keen to descend the ladder. Free attraction but there is a donation box.

Great place to visit with alot of history to be learned. Frank the tour guide was very experienced and knowledgeable,also very friendly. The views from around the bunker are absolutely stunning. The climb down to the bunker was easy and Frank made sure you knew what to do. Would recommend this place great wee place to visit and not hard to find.

All pre-booked tours are carried out by ex-members of 25 Group (AYR) Royal Observer Corps association.
The tour costs absolutely nothing although donations are welcomed towards the upkeep of the site.
Due to restricted space below ground, maximum tour size is 6 persons and pre booking essential through phoning 07513-504115.
Wear warm clothing and sensible footwear due to access via a 15 foot vertical steel ladder.
Very young children not allowed inside bunker due to ladder access.

This secret bunker was manned up until 1991 to monitor nuclear attacks on uk. It now hosts a visitor centre and you can climb down to view secret bunker. Viewings must be pre-booked with 1 hour tours provided or can be visited during September door open days.
