Visited this wonderful & extremely friendly course yet again today ... even though it's very early in the year & despite the recent very heavy rainfall & frosts it's in great condition ... ALL 18 Greens are on!
Today, for the 1st time, we encountered this courses true defence ... Strong Wind! The course plays completely differently under these conditions ... all holes are challenging but the 'Back 9' really come into their own when the wind's blowing ... Holes 10 till 14 give you a real battle to keep your scores down no matter how low your Handicap or how well you're playing ... it absolutely howls across these holes!!!
I really can't Recommend this course Highly enough no matter what time of year you choose to play it!!!

Played here for the 1st time yesterday & can't believe we didn't find it sooner!
This truly is a 'Hidden Gem' of a Moorland Course featuring the Best views over of the Firth of Clyde I’ve ever seen in my life from almost every hole.
All Tees & Fairways are immaculately manicured, the Greens are fast and of an exceptionally high standard & its bunkers are extremely well positioned.
From the 7th Hole onwards this course is just Breath-Taking! Set high above Skelmorlie it plays much longer than its yardage, with its testing Par 4’s & long, tricky Par 3’s. Long drives can help but really the key is accurate ball control, good positional play & keeping your nerve as you play for the green.
I can truly say this course is an absolutely beautiful golfing challenge for all skill levels & it's impossible not to enjoy playing here. It’s a '£15 Pay & Play Bargain'.
Once the oldest 13 Hole Club in the world in 1909 it was redesigned by James Braid, (we're on a mission to play all courses designed by James Braid), and this one is Stunning!
Don't think about it ... Go!
