A bit unreal moment and at the same time so True.
Sharing woven simplicity of intimacy, warmth , history , life experiences , with Madame Fontaine , in person , exciting that dodges no questions .
This château ,petit Guedelon deserves more visits and support to encourage the hosting of small book fairs, craftsmen , plays or outdoor concerts.
Hats off to “its re builders”.Curiosity is not always a defect, it can create little happiness within reach of the heart.Thank you.

Accessible rooms are the guest rooms and the reception room created in the sheepfold. The visitor receives a document for the free and arrow tour. Different facilities (radiators, pipes, access ..) do not always make the site easier to read. The engravings on the history of the costume are distributed throughout the rooms and relatively inaccessible. The attic bears his name well, the tithe barn is a storage room of the work in progress, there is excrement in the exhibition room of paintings. In the courtyard, the green theater rubs shoulders with the 2 cars and a trailer. The outdoor pigeon house was part of the castle estate.
Forty years of renovation do not explain what looks like a "bazaar", but the owners seem to have decided it that way.

I personally love this chateau and the very friendly, kind and accomodating owner Madame Fontaine. Whoever books this chateau and expects Magic Kingdom, will be certainly disappointed. This is an 800 hundred years old castle which has been acquired in 1981 by Monsieur and Madame Fontaine, both Architects. Since then a lot has happened. What you will find today are 5 very spacious guestrooms furnished with antique chairs, beds, tapistries, carpets. It gives this entire place an authenticy. In the rooms we have seen, there were also huge fireplaces. Our room, the bathroom and kitchen were clean. Towels were fresh. Do I need a TV in my hotel room? No. Do I need WLAN? Would be nice but I enjoyed also the Detox.
The breakfast: Confitures, honey, goat cheeses, butter, 3 types of baguette, eggs freshly prepared. More than enough.

Très beau château en reconstruction, une belle visite, de belles surprises et un accueil très sympathique. Le seul bémol c’est que c’est le bazar, on retrouve des caisses en plastique pour présenter de belles pièces de bois ou des fils qui pourraient être mieux dissimulés du coup ça gâche tous les efforts des propriétaires à redonner vie à ce lieu magique.

En voilà un château original, de par son histoire et de son emplacement (en plein coeur de village).

Le château de Chemery appartient à l'association "Les châteaux de la Loire. Vallée des rois" . À ce titre il profite de la visibilité et notoriété touristiques qu'offre ce réseau auprès des touristes. Cependant il n'en respecte pas les clauses puisqu'il n'accorde pas la gratuité au personnel des autres châteaux membres de l'association. Dommage...

Nous avons séjourné une nuit en famille dans ce château. Nous avons été très bien accueilli, visité le château avant de nous installer dans un studio spacieux. Bien au chaud dans une literie confortable, nous avons vécu une expérience rustique mais unique. Merci et bon courage pour la poursuite de la restauration.

Un très gentil accueil par la propriétaire . La visite est agréable et libre. C'est un travail énorme de restaurer un tel site et il est incroyable qu'il n'y ai aucune aide financière si ce n'est les visites et les chambres d'hôtes. Cela mérite des encouragements! Pour les personnes qui veulent dormir comme un chevalier, c'est l'endroit idéal ( avec un peu plus de confort tout de même...)

Le château n'appartient pas à l'association des châteaux de la loire vallée des rois , c'est un support publicitaire qui regroupe les châteaux adhérents , le château de Chémery est privé , restauré par des amoureux du patrimoine depuis plus de 40 ans . La pers à l'entrée n'était pas au courant de la gratuité accordé aux autres adhérents , veuillez nous en excuser, si à l'occasion vous revenez , merci de me le signaler ;
