Customer service provided was poor, unsure what to do when we arrived as there was no clear signage of anything.
Staff seemed unhappy and were not very friendly/ talkative.
Ride was good apart from not really being able to canter/ trot as much as we’d like as were being held back by less experienced members in our group. And the members of staff seemed reluctant to split into smaller groups.
Became quite bored at some points going at a snails pace.

I'm extremely surprised to read this review after we went above and beyond for you.
I'll begin by pointing out that you were 30 minutes late, arriving at the time the ride should have been setting off. We told you over the phone we would wait for you. This meant holding the other 2 riders (who were already mounted and ready to go) back so that we could send the group with 2 staff members. Having 2 staff enables us to effectively provide a mixed ability ride. Had we sent the others on time and kept 1 member of staff back just for you, your experienced partner would not have been able to separate off and canter. We also still provided you with the full 1 hour session despite you being late.
Your group consisted of only 4 riders, if you wanted a private ride you could have booked and paid for a private experience.
You were the least experienced rider of the group, so absolutely nobody in the group held YOU back! I have checked the staffs route mapping app which clearly shows the group did a total of 5 trots during the ride and your experienced partner separated for 4 canters. So the ride was in no way "at a snails pace". I think it should go without saying that the horses are living beings and need to walk between trots and canters to catch their breath and not overheat. We do not advertise our rides as a Gallop round the woods.
We have a HUGE amount of signs! From the moment your arrive there are signs on the main gate you came through, on the track down to the parking, in the carpark, at the reception.... These display where to park, where to wait, ask you to fill in registration forms etc etc. They are lime green, neon pink and orange so I'm not really sure how you could miss them.
I also spent time with you after the ride doing several photos of you both mounted next to each other and then separately. I Then helped you dismount and took more photos of you stood hugging your horses whilst you said how great the ride had been. At no point from beginning to end did we lack customer service or behave in an unhelpful or unfriendly manner. It's just not what we do here.
Considering how late you were I think we were extremely accommodating!!
Whilst I appreciate all feedback so we can continually provide an excellent service, this review is wildly inaccurate.

I had a great ride with Sherry who was LOVELY and very attentive in making sure everything was okay.
Very sweet horse (biscuit) who was responsive and alert but beautifully behaved. Thank you for a great afternoon!

Fantastic forest ride with Anne and Alyssa. We were given lots of support and advice when saddling up. The stables is right in the forest so no road work at all. We were a mixed ability ride and everyone was able to ride at their pace with cantering for some and just trotting for others. Anne was very good at checking we were comfortable and happy with the pace! Thank you so much.

Went for a lovely family ride today with Alyssa and Anne through the forest. It was great fun and both have been super helpful in assisting me to my first ever trot. Can't wait to come again!! Dora was a lovely girl to ride on and she made me feel very safe and comfortable.
Would highly recommend the lovely staff and easy going horses.

Had the most amazing first ride experience today! Everyone was so lovely and friendly, and the horses are just amazing (especially Bandit) Honestly can’t think of a better way to spend a sunny autumn morning than trekking through the beautiful forest! Can’t wait to go back!

My daughter researched riding centres and came across Eastmoors. Having not ridden for nearly 30 years I was apprehensive!! My daughter was keen to start riding - so a couple of novices together set out! We were met by a very friendly team at the yard. Lovely setting, nice stables and straight out to the forest with no road work made our day. We both loved the horses that were selected for us. Kind, steady and gave us confidence. Izzy, who took our ride, was super with us and extremely patient for our first hack out. We even had the occasional trot thrown in. Really enjoyed our hour in the saddle and will definitely be back to Eastmoors. Look at their Facebook page. Love how they tell a story about each of the horses. Gives you great insight into the yard, the friendliness, love, care and attention they give to each of there horses.

We had an absolutely fantastic ride with Anne who took out myself, my partner and his family. She is a very experienced rider. We felt very comfortable and had a beautiful ride with lots of lovely woodland scenery! Thank you so much, cannot recommend enough!

Visited for a 1.5 hack with my daughter. Was taken out by Anne who was superb - friendly, knowledgeable and great fun.

These riding stables are fabulous. The team (horses and human) work expertly and tirelessly to ensure your hack; whether a novice, experienced, or a something in-between rider, is perfectly suited for your ability. Katie is a ride leader extraordinaire, who generates a fabulous fun ride while being safe, with the riders and the horses wellbeing always in mind. I wouldn't hesitate to return - in fact, I will return very soon for more good times.

My daughter received a block voucher for 5 rides for her 9th birthday at the end of July and has been coming once a week throughout the holidays! She has been going out with Alissa who is the loveliest, most helpful and kindhearted riding instructor my daughter has ever ridden with! And Howie, Olivia’s pony of choice is perfection personified!! The bond they have built together is beautiful!! 🤍🤎
All of the staff are friendly (not at all hoity toitie as we have found many other stables to be), the facilities are lovely and clean, the ponies are beautiful and so well loved and in a nutshell if you are looking for a place to ride, this is 110% the place to be!
Alissa has helped Olivia push herself, has coached her throughout her forest rides and has even been more than obliging, letting little old me tag along for the walk (and run at times) to witness Olivia’s progress first hand!
Not only has Olivia loved walking and trotting through the forest, she has even built up to cantering her way around out there too.
Safe to say Alissa has gone above and beyond for Olivia, even coming in on her day off to take her out. She is so much more than just Olivia’s riding instructor, she has become her friend and that in itself has only perfected Olivia’s experience this summer at Eastmoors Riding Stables.
Thank you to everyone at Eastmoors and especially to Alissa, we are so grateful!

Yes absolutely! They need enough distance so no toes get stood on and suitable footwear is a must. But they are absolutely welcome to walk along with you and get some action shots! 😊

Is this stables suitable for experienced riders? I own my own horse, and my daughter is visiting from Australia, and we want a fun hack - with canters, together!

Hi. Yes it absolutely is assuming you let them know at the point of booking. My friend and I are very experienced riders with now retired horses and for a girls day out we decided to try a ride. Go for 2.5 hours and ask for Andy and you can have a private ride just you and your daughter with Andy. Plenty of cantering, lovely horse, relaxed.

I recently went for a hack here with my 8 year old daughter. I am an advanced rider but of course wanted something careful for her. They were very accommodating and horses were lovely. I’m sure they would be happy to sort any kind of ride for you if you have enough time.
