Spent 4 day Easter Break at the camping ground with friends (we are late 40's early 50's) with our dogs.

We normally camp at Dwellingup and this was a great change. Nestled in the trees with great bush walks to the dam and good 4WD tracks around the dam where you can set up camp for the day and enjoy the serenity. The dam was good for kayaking / stand up paddle boarding or wave ski / biscuiting with ample room at the boat ramp.

Camp kitchens are decent size and barbeques very clean. Toilets ok, clean and only once were a little smelly - really cant complain, like how they have water out the front to wash your hands.

No phone reception (occasional ability to send a text message). No showers. Cafe / Shop had backup items for anything we forgot to bring.

There were no issues with loud campers and the ranger goes around ~ 10pm to check. Loved that we could have camp fires each night - the fire pits and table and chairs made awesome areas in each camp site.

One morning we were woken up just after 6am by the jet boats on the lake but we didnt mind too much - if you were camping right near the lake this could potentially be an issue.

Suggestions - there are a number of different camping sections, really suggest checking which one suits your requirements better. We were in Zambia which was at the back, each spot nestled in the bush and quite private, longer walk to the dam / cafe but we enjoyed that. Other sections were more suited to larger groups camping with not as much shade / serenity; others overlooked the dam. There are sections to suit all camping styles. If you want power you have to book in the tourist park which is a different section all together.

The only thing we weren't happy with was that when we arrived after hours (circa 7.30pm) although the gate code was left out for us to collect there were no instructions on how to find the gate we needed to go through to enter the camping park and it wasn't obvious - 3 couples near us all said the same thing - as there is no phone reception make sure you really find out how to get to the camp ground if you are arriving after the shop shuts or like the 3 camping families we spoke to you will be driving up and down the roads trying to work out how to get in.

Great access to the lake, clean toilets and big camp sites. Only downside was that the people prior had put their rubbish in the fire pit but not the end of the world.

Luckily we were booked in here on the Thursday/Friday nights as from end of work Friday it became a packed, loud place and I was glad to leave.Booking in was fine but you had to buy your wood from the office for $18 for 15kg.Inside the bag was 2 bits of jarrah and the rest was green mill ends.Total rip off.The toilet block was a long walk from our van and was packed with kids so didnt get to have a shower whilst we were there. It is a dog friendly park and peoples dogs just roamed around on their own with their owner noticably absent.Huge power boats that hit the water at 7am with music pumping and kids screaming.Great if you are part of the action but if you want a nice peaceful stay to enjoy the lovely bush setting I would advise going mid week. The water is a gorgeous clear blue due to the clay bottom.Lots of walks around and camping spots spread everywhere,I think if we were to go again I would stay in the camping areas with no power and water just to enjoy the peace.Unless you have a boat there is not a lot to do.We went into Harvey and had a look around. The cafe has a large menu and the prices are reasonable if you dont want to cook.Nice cup of coffee to start your day was good too.Get up for the sunrise over the water and watch the mist roll in over the dam.The 28 parrots and other birds are really friendly and will be all over your campsite as soon as you arrive

Our stay at Logie brook dam was spoilt by vicious, biting March flies! 1000’s of them!!! The place is amazing with excellent camping facilities such as - modern and clean campers kitchens, lots of very clean long drop toilets, individual assigned camping/caravanning spots all with picnic tables and fire pits!!! The dam has sooooooo many awesome spots to park up for both day visitors and campers! There are $$$$ for camping, but the sites are well spaced so you get plenty of room! Camping in the area called Bunuru is as close as you can get to the water - beautiful views and easy with less than 5 minute walks to the dam to have a swim!! If you have a boat, even better, as the water skiing is amazing here!

The cafe provides coffees, meals and basic goodies, and the staff are very pleasant!

The only down side!!!!!!!! THE MARCH FLIES!!!! They were very active in the week we stayed!!! From Valentine’s Day on!!! We left after 3 days because we couldn’t get any relief from the huge biting creatures flying around absolutely everywhere!!!!! Without our fly swat to help protect us, there was nothing we could do!!!! Swimming in the dam helped to escape from them for a while!!!! But that was it!!! All the insect repellents in the world never helped us!!!!!

Only the good old fashion fly swat!!’ So campers and caravaners......beware!!!!
Only the ants were happy with our fly swatting them as we proceeded them with a feast!!!!!!

We usually stay at Lane Pool Reserve but thought we'd give this place a go. Stayed at the bush camp at Logue Brook Dam. These bush sites are now run by the tourist park nearby. We had a lovely site overlooking the dam - in bunaru? Bush camp area. Short walk to the cafe and boat ramp area. We swam in the dam and saw people fishing. Large clean, bright (skylit) drop toilets with toilet roll and there was a great new looking camp kitchen overlooking the water. Only thing we missed was a sink in the camp kitchen but the BBQ facilities were immaculate. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring and parking for a couple of cars. You check in at the cafe. Our 2yr old daughter loved scooting along on her trike on the path overlooking the dam and watching all the speedboats zoom past. Will definitely return.

As it was a long weekend and we weren't organised, we decided to go to a no bookong DPAW campground for the weekend. We came in the dark last night so it was very confusing to work out where to camp. We thought we would head to the DPAW campground, which according to their website is right next to the tourist park. However that campground is now run by the tourist park and you have to book. However there is camping around the dam in designated spots. We got a map from the cafe at the tourist park which shows the areas to camp. The dam edge is sloped and gravelly so hard to find a nice flat bit to set up on. There are two drop toilets on opposite sides of the lake which are clean and not smelly. There are a few fire pits which are rudimentary with no metal fire rings. There are no picnic tables like the usual DPAW campgrounds have and you need to BYO firewood and drinking water.
It is a beautiful spot and the water looks great to swim in. Just a bit chilly this time of year (September long weekend)!

Was on my way from Bunbury to Perth and made a detour via Logue Brook Dam and a few other places. I visited in the winter so there was not much going on. There were a few picnic spots with fantastic facilities. A really peaceful place!

Always a fantastic time at Logue Brook Dam we camp for the Easter break annually. Clean long drop toilets - no showers at the camp sites but the dam gives you a quick wash when you swim :) !! Kids have a ball riding bikes swimming and just being kids . Close to Perth and only a short drive to Harvey.
Great quick getaway
