I wasn't intending to buy anything when I visited the store but after the lady explained the manufacturing process and the quality of the wood & steel used, I purchased a beautifully made knife - perfect for camping. Each knife is unique and obviously takes a significant time to form, so I really don't understand the 'disappointed' reviews on here - they clearly don't recognise craftsmanship when they see it.

Had a great time making a knife with Bossie Knives. You get plenty of help to make sure that the knife comes out beautifully. Great experience, and learned a lot. Would recommend highly if you want to make a knife.

Ich verstehe nicht, wie man diese kleine wunderbare Werkstatt nur schwer finden kann, Clarens ist keine Großstadt.
Wenn man eine touristische Attraktion erwartet, ist man falsch. Es ist eine Werkstatt! Wir wurden trotzdem herzlich empfangen, konnten uns die Werkstatt und alle Rohmaterialien anschauen und das Endprodukt ist wunderschön! Wir mussten einfach kaufen!

This place has more signage in Clarens than any other place. After finally finding it, we were enormously disappointed. It has a tiny display of what are essentially hunting knives. The workshop is in the background with nothing happening. No one to show you anything, nothing to see. Don’t bother with this place.

You are the first to say that we have the most signage in Clarens thank you. Custom handmade means that everything is done by hand and we can only do so much. You came after the Xmas season so what did you expect. With regards to the workshop, we are human, and can not work everyday. Blessings for 2019.

I was so looking forward to seeing all the knives and sheaths only to find a small handful that were mostly marked as sold. When chatting to the guy, there was no interest in showing us around or explanation offered in the knife making process. When asked if he could make me a knife I was told that he is not taking on any new business. It's weird because there are signs outside saying custom hand crafted knives. We spent about 5min there and the rest of the day at one of the many restaurants around the square.

I love my knives so i was very excited to go to the knife maker in Clarens. I was very disappointed, not only with the fact that it took me 3 walks up and down the street that indicated the knife maker was, but it is tucked away and you really have to look for it.
Upon entering it looks rustic, only once I was half way through the little shop did a woman put her head out of the workshop which looked like a mess never mind an operational workshop. So I never met the knife maker "Bossie" . The knives were very expensive and there was wasnt even a small one that may have been affordable.
I was disheartened

One of those places were you can very easily get totally carried away and blow your total budget on nice to have items,but to see the craftsmanship,very good.

We went to look out of curiosity. My wife was not interested in going . We were pleasantly surprised. The knife makers take such pride in their creations . The quality and finish of the products was close to perfection. My wife was more interested in the end than me .
