Interesting historical place, dating back over hundred years to Russian-Japanese war. Astonishing to find such a place in the middle of archipelago - having served a a fortress to protect St Peterburg, a prison and what else! Good coffee at the harbour cafe and delicious ice cream - we had whisky liquer flavor and it melted in our mouths! Nice ceramique exhibit in a barn. Fun to see the sheep pasturing on the grounds. Would have been five stars, but we were really disappointed that the watch tower was being repaired and no access to it, and there was no info about that on the website or on the info board by the harbour. We had been looking forward seeing the Isokari light house from the tower. Anyway, sooo beatiful views and peaceful and getting to know a piece of history that it is definitely worth a visit on a sunnu day!

Great marina to arrive by own boat, charter or scheduled trips. History as prison and forture, today part of Bothnia Sea National Park. Cafe, shop, sauna, accomodation, grill place, art gallery, animals, hiking routes, awesome sights!
