We took a drive through the Nature Reserve - the only thing you can do is take a picnic basket with you and sit down by the lagoon to relax - there are ablution facilities available.

Went to Mpenjati ‘Nude’ beach!
Only 2 people there on a gorgeous sunny day. We never felt unsafe and enjoyed being naked on the beach and in the ocean.
Only issue was the hike there...trail was well marked and recently cleared, but the path onto the beach is now Lagoon, so we had to improvise.

This unspoilt nature is situated on the KwaZulu Natal South Coast about 20 kilometres south of Margate. It lies on the Menjati River Lagoon. The 66 hectares reserve in managed by Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife.

The Nature reserve is on two sides of the river, both on the north and south banks. We went there specifically to view the fossilised shells, but this can really only be done at very low tide. How ever we were fortunate to see the blue duiker from very close by.
