A beautiful bay with everything you need. Not for those who like clubbing unless you're willing to travel. Lots of lovely restaurants, shops. Watersports, boat hire, walks.

The destruction of Kalami by crass overdevelopment is almost complete. Looking down from the hills, they bay still looks beautiful but from the rough shingle beach the view to the hills has been ruined by the ugly villas and apartments.
Kalami, which barely exists in winter, is home to middle class visitors from the UK who are happy to pay the hefty rental fees and to eat in the tavernas reached in nearby Agni and Agios Stefanos by boat.
We called by in September for the first time in a decade. It was hugely disappointing and there's no reason to go again.

Had an amazing week with Family and friends felt so chilled and relaxed we hired a boat for the day, and it is an experience all of us will never forget.

The whole of NE Coast is beautiful views across to Albania. However my overiding impression of Corfu is expensive poor quality restaurants and bars charging London prices for food and alcohol . Unless you find larger supermarkets you will get shafted for everday products if self catering, even the mobile fruit seller on local beach ripped us off with under ripe produce. Sadly post Covid this is the theme generally with people looking to make up for lost livelihoods but it will backfire. With the pound and euro nearly at parity EU holidays aren't value for money any more

A lovely small beach, the sand is quite a hard sand with a small pebble entry into the sea
On the beach everything is free - toilet / beach changing and sunbeds and brollies
There are limited amount of sunbeds so would suggest getting there early
A small snack bar is available serving drinks , ice cream and snacks
Parking is on the road and seems ample

This is a lovely secluded beach with plenty of chairs/umbrellas, places to eat & drink, with beautiful warm waters and rental for kayaks, paddle boards etc.
the only downsides are limited parking (park on the hill going down into Kalami or car park at the bottom if you have £3) also it gets deep quick, so may not be ideal for younger children/non swimmers, but ours loved it.

Très joli village avec crique et au choix rochers, plage petits cailloux avec ou sans parasils. Eau turquoise, de nombreux poissons.

We stopped off here briefly on our "East Coast" boat tour recently. There was just enough time to grab a drink at "The White House" where Lawrence Durrell lived with his wife before WW2 and take a quick dip in the lovely sea there. Getting in was a bit of a struggle tiptoeing over the pebbly beach and rocks but once in, the water was crystal clear. You really need special water shoes if you are going to spend any serious time on this pebbly beach in this lovely little cove.
Maybe I've lived a sheltered life up until now but I don't recall having to pay 50 cents to have a shower after taking a dip in the pool. Oh well...

Is there any sand on the beach? Travelling with young children, so wondering whether or not to pack buckets and spades.

No sand but it is a nice beach for kids as long as they have water shoes. Mind built towers of pebbles and some children had been decorating pebbles and leaving them for others to find.

Can anybody tell me the prices for kayaks please???? (and if there's anywhere to rent jet skis around this beach) :) thanks

Hi I believe the kayaks and paddle boards are €12 an hour. There aren’t any jet skis yet but a water sports place was just setting up last week when I left

We are thinking of Kalami in Corfu for our summer holidays for 10 day in July/early August 2017. We have been to many Greek islands and mainland for our hols and love it! We are two families with 5 kids of 12, 13 and 17. We all like a mixture of relaxing and being active. The kids prefer the pool whereas the adults prefer the sea. We need umbrellas (being pale Irish!). We like to have some fun maybe water sports or water park or river rafting. We will hire cars to drive around the island and explore. Any suggestions for accommodation and things to do and see would be appreciated.

We hired a boat - and would recommend doing this as its great fun (we hire it over 3 days but spread over the week, so one day with and one day without) Kalami is quiet but it is beautiful - our 13 & 14 yr olds enjoy it. We spend a week here, then a week in Roda search bluegardenscorfu in Roda, which is North Corfu.
Hope you enjoy it, Corfu is a lovely island - and where the real Durrells lived, as well as where the TV programme is now filmed!

No we did not wear sea shoes due to sea urchins - but we did agree sea shoes would be a very good idea due to the pebbles and stones hurting your feet!
