La città di Skiathos, ha tra le tante offerte turistiche, tanti lati nascosti tutti da scoprire. Tra i tanti vicoli e negozi, i colori esaltano. Ogni giorno è possibile scoprire e fotografare una parte nuova.

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed the 2/3 hour walk around Skiathos old town with Michael Evans. We booked via TUI from our apartments. He is certainly a character and has a fantastic knowledge regarding the history of the area. The tour was interesting and funny and finished with a lovely snack of bread and wine at Michael’s house.
We would highly recommend this tour.

Whilst we booked most of our extras in the UK this one we booked when we arrived, and we are so glad we did. An excellent walk around the parts of the town that you might miss.
Information is given relating as to how the town has changed since the tourist boom kicked in. There is a brief history of the two bronze memorials on the quayside; both relating to poignant events in the history of Skiathos although there is an amusing anecdote relating to the nowadays appearance of one of them.
If I understood Michael correctly if you are on this walk on the second Sunday in September 2019 you might receive a surprise near one of them.
His knowledge of the churches is exceptional and his very dry, and possibly wicked, sense of humour shines through, ask him about vampire priests!
His homemade wine and cakes at his house round off a wonderful evening.
Do not miss this walk which has limited availability.

Na žalost, ne umem da napravim novu temu, pa koristim postojeću koja uopšte nije adekvatna onoj o kojoj želim da vas informišem.
Naime, kratko smo boravili u Lutri Edipsosu upravo sa namerom da posetimo Skijatos. Tako smo saznali da je cena izleta od 25 do 30 evra po osobi, ali ako imate svoj auto možete otići do Pefkija (karte možete kupiti i u Lutri Edipsos npr. u agenciji Lokris, 2, Ermos Str.) po ceni od 12 evra po osobi. Ako odote na taj izlet i volite avione, nakon razgledanja grada sa vodičem imate sasvim dovoljno vremena da prošetate samo 1,5 kilometar obalom di aeridroma čija je pista tik uz ulicu. Tamo ćete, vrlo izvesno, zateći mnoštvo ljudi koji zaista uživaju u veličanstvenim sletanjima i uzletanjima aviona iz kojih vam mašu putnici i članovi posade :)

We stayed in Koukounaries, on the south-west coast of the island, and we planned to visit the town of Skiathos as well (there is a bus going regularly to and fro, it stops in the port of Skiathos). We found Skiathos town very nice, with white houses perched on a hill, like so many other Greek towns, especially in the islands. Many houses are painted white, with blue doors or window frames, separated by narrow streets covered with cobblestone. Here and there you can see lemon trees or orange trees in the yards. Close to the port there are many restaurants, "zaharoplasteio" with delicious Greek sweets, and shops with plenty of souvenirs. The sellers are very friendly, and very helpful. For example, we wanted to buy some CDs with Greek music, and the owner of a shop went home especially for us to bring us a few CDs (which we liked very much, by the way). He also recommended us other Greek musicians/singers, and he was very passionate describing their style of music. We were really impressed by both the town and the people!

Great way to spend a Sunday evening meandering around the streets of Skiathos hearing about the history, the making of Mama Mia and so much more. Michael is a star and his tour will not disappoint though there are a lot of steps and uneven paths, but fab nonetheless.

We booked this tour through our Thomson rep, at only 19 euros each including transport into Skiathos town it was amazing value. Michael Evans the guide met us in the port, we were a group of around 16 people so it was easy for everyone to hear Michael and to keep together as a group as we wound our way from the port up through the back streets of Skiathos town. Michael was so knowledgeable on the history of not only Skiathos but Greece as a whole. Michael made it so interesting along with witty remarks he kept everyone spell bound. He even supplied a shawl should any of the ladies wish to cover their shoulders when entering the church, so thoughtful. Over the years we have been on many tours and some guides just relate parrot fashion facts and figures however Michael had a unique style. At the very end of the tour he said he was going to show us an old olive press in a basement but he needed to put the lights on first. It turned out to be his home, he had prepared a light supper for anyone who wanted to stay consisting of wine, bread, dips and olives that he had marinated himself. It brought to an end a very good evening. Highly recommend this tour, it was so good should I go back to Skiathos would definitely go on it again.

Can be a bit tiring in very hot weather, well worth a coffee break in one of the many little coffee bars, it was the F1 at Monaco when we went so we found a good little spot with a TV , treated ourselves to a snack , a drink and a fabulous cake. Check the prices first as we were verbally told a figure, when queried and written down it was much cheaper.

One of the most relaxing shopping experiences in the Greek islands, Skiathos offers winding streets filled with pleasant shops. Shopkeepers assist purchasers without the vulgarity of high pressure or trickery. Pleasant, well stocked with goods, the little island welcomes rather than repels.

Skopelos Town it is a beautiful option at list to visit, but even to stay there. With a lot of white houses, small streets and a lot of small churches it is an amazing place wfere you will like to discover by walking! Try skopelos cheese pie!

Does anyone know when Hidden Corners Town Walk starts for the season? We will be in Skiathos 12th May 2018 for 1 week. How long in time is the walk, and what sort of time of day? Would it be suitable for a very mobile 83 year old? How much does it cost and how do I find out how to book, meet up with the walk? Thanks - it sounds a perfect introduction to the town and island for our stay and we'd like to do it if it's running.
