Witam. Wejście na sam most jest darmowe. Z mostu można wejść na ruiny zamku i to jest płatne ale tam nie byłem. Nie jest to chyba drogie kosztuje kilka euro. Jest tam sporo ludzi ale raczej warto bo są dodatkowe piękne widoki (z tego co słyszałem). Z mostu Bastei proszę udać się koniecznie ok. 15 minut pieszo do wąwozu Schwedenloser. Tam jest pięknie.

They are pretty good about cleaning roads during the winter. Just make sure you are bundled up pretty well. It gets below freezing this time of year.

I think hiking from Bad Schandau train station to Bastei is possible. I have seen many people were doing so, though, I took public transport. Just keep it in mind it might take longer than your exception due to the selection of track.

I took the shuttle from the parking and was lucky as just waited around 5 minutes (same when returning). I think it runs every 30m but i heard that on high season there may be more shuttles. I think you can see predefined schedule on ovps de (then verkehrsmittel, bus, bastei-linie, 4206)

On our visit with a tour company, we had many elderly folk who did the slight upgrade walk from the parking lot to the hotel - about 8 minutes. The hotel does have a terrace from which to view the Elbe river and the valley below with small villages and farms, but only a small portion of those famous rock forms are visible from the terrace. Take your relatives to the stairs and see if they can climb down them and, later, up them. I think there were about 25 . The stairs have railings and the rise between each step is comfortable. The bridge that connects the rock formations is flat, paved, and wide enough for at least 3 people. The bridge is quite long with excellent views. Beyond the bridge, there is a small charge to see the remains of the old medieval fort which might be a challenge for people unstable on their feet as there are many up and down steps and narrow ramps. I might be considered elderly, but without leg/balance problems so I was able to walk to the bridge and beyond to the other rock formations with the medieval remains with no difficulty. It was a great outing!
