Yes this place is permanently closed and all the trains have been sold. I've been by this place multiple times and never went in as I never ever saw anyone until recently when I gentleman happened to be in there by the yellow caboose . His name is John Weir and he bought this piece to add to his collection. He's from Smith Falls and he told me about a train museum there and you can even spend a night on a train. I was fortunate enough to have Mr. Weir invite me to come aboard and show me inside the compartment and tell me all about it as he use to drive trains for a living and was very knowledgeable. I asked him what was going to happen to the old station which is an amazing piece of history. He wasn't sure? I would love to see it restored and perhaps turned into a diner, gift shop etc.. I sure hope it's not torn down. Thank You John Weir for an amazing experience and for restoring History!!

One of my enduring memories of Brighton is or was the baleful wail of the night freight, on a quiet evening sitting outside at Macs on the jetty, as the double header muscled its two-mile long following of freight cars up from Coburg; wailing at every crossing and a growing howl of four superchargers grabbing the Northumberland air into its greedy lungs. The clanging of the barrier gates acting as a herald. Tempora mutantur. A trip next time to Uxbridge to see 2543 or to Smith Falls, if that has survived.

This Town needs some night time attractions. We could not check in until 3pm on a Saturday, so we drove around town checking it out. Not much to do other than the beach. Looks like a great opportunity for someone to start a pub or a Dave and Busters here, or something seasonal. Very quiet town!

The locomotive has been removed and the remaining part of the attraction is for sale.
A great pity as this was a wonderful step back in railroad history.
Before it closed I would have given it 5 stars

Fabulous train museum with historical trains of Canadian eras. Tucked away on a side street in this small town the railway museum is a delight not only to the train buff but to any history buff and tourist in general .

Their one-page webpage doesn't say much and we were there the past weekend it was closed. We asked a lady who was walking by and she said the owner is about 84 and has not opened the area for a long time. She's been there for 3 yrs and hasn't seen it opened. She said we could go in and take pics and we did. My preteens love it and we took a lot of great pictures. It's next to real railroad with trains passing by every 15 mins, so it's quite a sight but with young kids always watch for them so they don't climb over the fence and go to the real rail road.

Trenton is a small without to many fun activities. But Memory Junction Railway Museum was a super fun experience for everyone !!! I wish there was a bit more trains to take a look. It'll take you about 20-40min so you'll have plenty time to do other stuff after it ! Go for it !

Even if you're not originally from Brighton, you can find items to enjoy. In fact, if you just study the railway cars outside, you could spend and hour here.

A must see for all those with nostalgic feelings about rail history in Ontario. A former railway station converted to a track side museum by the Bangay family, is chocked full of artifacts, photos, and far too much history to even begin to explain.
Outside exibits include an actual train, with passenger cars and caboose, & velocipede models. There is also a huge shed with collections of everything from butcher tools to apple corers and food grinders. Many historical photos and implements from the heyday of apple and vegetable growing in the region.
Not open every day, but it's free and well worth scheduling a visit on a day when they are open.

Ralph and Eugenia Bangay started the museum and still run it. Part of the original Grand Trunk Railway, Ralph rescued the station from demolition.
Open by appointment for our visit today, but open later in the week and on weekends.
Eugenia provided a fascinating talk on the history of the station and histories of numerous railway related artifacts, including some from Brighton and surrounding area housed in the buildings. The train cars (rolling stock) on-site include an engine, caboose, freignt cars and more and were open to explore. We even had a freight train go by while we were visiting. No admission fee however donations are welcome. There is a gift shop too for souvenirs.
