A great museum lots to do and lots to see a good dayout for the whole of the family, even if its a rainy day. The cafe is good value a a large food selection.

The James Bond day was feeble. A bunch of Aston Matin cars with no interpretation and little relevance. Guided tours fully booked when we arrived at midday. No access to the Zorin mine, just photos in the entrance. A waste of £40.

Regarding the Aston Martin display, we aimed to showcase these iconic vehicles as part of the Bond legacy. However, we understand that more context or interpretation could have enhanced the experience, and we'll certainly take this into consideration for future events.
We're also sorry to hear that the guided tours were fully booked by the time you arrived. To improve accessibility, we'll explore options for increasing tour availability or providing additional self-guided materials for guests arriving later in the day.

Superb day out. Outstanding displays and entertainment for all the family. The volunteers were really good and helpful (unlike the patronising ones at the National Trust!) and were obviously proud of what they were showing - and rightly so.
An extensive site which deserves much more time.
Young kids will be enthralled with the moving exhibits and bus and train rides. The more mature will have their memories stirred by exhibits from the past.
Food is good if a little pricey but for a good cause.
Cannot recommend strongly enough for all the family - 2 yrs to 100 years.

What a wonderful day. We arrived shortly after 10.00 am and were kept busy until it closed at 4.30 pm. We still didn't see everything. The interactive exhibits were good for both children and adults and there were various crafts being demonstrated on site. The bus and train rides around the site were free as were the nature walks.
Will definitely go back soon, preferably on an event day when the engines are in steam.

First came here on a normal Saturday in July 3 years ago. Thoroughly enjoyed it then. Returned today and felt pretty disappointed.
It didn’t have the same vibe. There appeared little happening. Despite the fact it was supposed to be hosting A Taste of Sussex. What a let down that was. One small pop up bar with a few beers - no Pimms - despite it being advertised, and the craft stalls consisted of 2nd hand stuffed toys and some healing crystals ! Talk about over embellished advertising.
There were no live displays. Last time we saw a blacksmith at work and lots of activities in the pottery and wood barns.
Very few places to get a drink or ice cream. Everything seemed to be shut ?
The main cafe was open but it was a joke. They didn’t start serving hot food until 12 noon but by 2pm they had run out of jacket potatoes, baguettes, pasties and crisps. Added to which there was a 35 min wait for what scarce hot food was left. There were hardly any staff and no tables were being cleared. The girl on the till said she had “never seen it so busy”. What a ridiculous statement ! The museum was far quieter than last time we visited and it was a bank holiday for gods sake - you should have expected it to be busy.
I doubt we will return again

What an outstanding working museum. There is absolutely something for everyone here. It is a fantastic museum for families and for like us couples. Being a transport enthusiast I absolutely loved the railway and transport exhibits. The other great thing about the site is that it is very wheelchair friendly as my partner sometimes needs to use her wheelchair. I would recommend Amberley to everyone.

What an excellent museum! So much to see and do. Definitely an all day visit. Industrial history so well presented. Website is a true reflection.
Caution if using post code in your satnav. You could end up a couple of miles away at a water treatment plant! Look for the station car park.

We planned to visit this museum whilst in the area and were totally amazed at what they have on site . We decided to catch the train up to the top of the site and have a slow walk back down and take in all that was on offer . This museum is ideal for adults and children a like . The first exhibition we went into was the electrical museum , step back in time and so much interaction for every one . One exhibit was a generator which powered a local cinema in Broadstairs and then a local house from where we live . I will let the many photos do the talking ,we spent nearly 3 hours there and must have missed somethings too. Great admission prices and really family friendly with helpful volunteers.

Oui, le musée est ouvert du 10 au 12 mai. Nous organisons une mini-exposition le samedi 12 et un salon des véhicules commerciaux le dimanche 13 mai. Nous avons notre propre café sur place, mais il y a aussi de bons pubs à quelques pas du musée. Le musée est ouvert de 10h à 17h. Adultes £ 12.50, enfants £ 7. Sincères amitiés.

Most of our events are hosted on a weekend. We do not have any event planned on the Friday 22nd June, but on the Sat 23rd and Sun 24th June it is our Emergency Services Weekend. The museum itself has plenty to see on a standard open day.

Yes absolutely! We are the proud recipients of the Kennel Club "Most dog friendly day out" 2016 award. We ask that dogs except guide dogs stay outside our restaurant but we have plenty of outside seating where there is a water bowl for their refreshment.

A lot of information can be found on our website on the "visit us" tab and then "accessibility information".
Generally speaking and during the main season disabled visitors pay standard prices and carers (one per visitor) can come in free, but this might vary for pre-bookable ticketed events in (best to email or phone the office).
Exhibitors at our vehicle events can let us know in advance if they are blue badge holders and we will do our best to park them in a suitable place.
