Madhya Ranga Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, Shivanasamudra, Kollegal, Chamrajnagar Dist - Temple is under renovation as on 07/08/2021 and as per temple priest the renovation process may take 2 years.

This is called Madhyam Ragannathaswamy, installed by ancient sages 1000s of years back. Very attractive deity. Would love to visit again.

Visited this place on the way back from Shivasamudram waterfall. Nice calm place where you can pray and feel peaceful.

The Madhya Ranganatha Swamy Temple is situated on the way to Shivanasamudram and is a fantastic ancient temple with a lot of history.
The Lord Ranganatha Swamy is found in reclining position and is flanked by Ranganayaki. The Temple Poojari was courteous and explained the significance and history of the temple.
This also happens to be one of those Temple that was spared the onslaught of the marauding army of Tippu Sultan (Tippu, for some reason either feared or revered Lord Ranganatha).
Must visit if you are visiting Shivanasamudram falls.

This is an old but active temple situated near to Barachukki falls of Sivanasamudra falls. It doesn't have many curvings on the walls for ornamentation. But it has withstood all force of time for centuries and is still attended by pilgrims. Also this temple has a signicance to the mythological origin of Sivanasamudra Falls.

Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple located in Shivanasamudra is built in the Dravidan style of architecture. Sri Ranganathaswamy here is also referred to as "Madhya Ranga", who is highly revered by Sri Vyshanava devotees among others. Among all the three Rangas, the deity here is believed to represent the youth form of the God and hence is also fondly referred to as 'Mohana Ranga' and 'Jaganmohana Ranga'. Madhya Ranga is an ancient temple housing a beautiful idol, yet being located remotely sees few visitors. The temple often remains closed to visitors as the priest is not punctual, and sadly Karnataka government temple authority has done precious little to maintain and promote this place.There are three more temples on three other sides of the island.

Beautiful temple located close to Barachuki falls (2nd of the Shivanasamudram falls), Within driving distance from Bangalore. You could combine a visit to this temple with the visit to Shivanasamudram falls. Set in a beautiful environment overlooking the mountains and very close to Cauvery river, this is one of the three temples located in the islets along Cauvery river (the other two are Srirangapatnam and Srirangam). It is said that the main murthy (moolavar) is made of Saligramam.
How to get there: You can reach this temple via Kanakapura road from Bangalore; After Kanakapura, proceed on the same round till the t-end and then take a right turn towards the Shivanasamudra falls. Signage for this temple may not be prominent, safe to use google maps. There is a check-dam very close to the temple and there is also a coracle ride in that area.

We visited this temple on our way back from Barachukki. This is a must visit for all Vaishnavites. Ranga is in his usual sleeping posture. We had a very good darshan, no crowd and peaceful view of him. Ranganayaki is in an adjoining small temple. The lord is less imposing as compared to Adi and Anthya Ranga. Temple is small and when we visited it was under renovation.
The surroundings are not that clean as it is a small village. Roads are also narrow. A lot of the local people were walking in and out as we visited. I wish there was better maintenance of the yard and the temple wall boundaries.
A good visit, I recommend it purely from the historic importance and religious importance. Nothing to eat, no toilets, in all probability you will not spend more than 30 minutes here. On the way back, watch for the water flow in full splendour.

This Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, is located at Shivanasamudra in Mandya District of Karnataka. As this is not on Bengaluru-Mysuru highway, many people/pilgrims have no idea about the location of this temple. The Government of Karnataka has neither given any importance to this temple nor taken up any developmental activities to attract pilgrims.
Here, Sri Ranganathaswamy is called as "Madhya Ranga. The God is in reclining posture as found in Srirangam and Srirangapatnam. It is said that the God here represents 'Youth' and hence also called as "Mohana Ranga".
This temple is a Historic one but neglected. Even the Poojari, does not turn up during the temple timings. But the temple is very beautiful. We had the privilege of visiting this temple when we were at mysuru for the Kaveri Pushkarams. Though it is a deviation from the main highway between Bengaluru and Mysuru, we opted to go and visit this temple at Sivanasamudram and we are happy for having visited this temple of Sri Ranganathaswamy alias Madhya Ranga.
