Fantastic trip. We were very fortunate and saw 2 wolves (very unusual on that trip) and 2 bears. Very interesting to hear all about their lives, habitat , food etc We were the only English couple, but our guides spoke excellent English. You definitely need proper walking shoes/boots and warm weather clothes. Quite a long uphill walk there, and then downhill in the dark- but good head torches provided , as well as binoculars.

On holiday in the Abruzzo National Park I booked and paid in advance with Wildlife Adventures two excursions (I will do a separate review regarding the bearwatching excursion made on July 23rd). I booked the La Camosciara excursion for the day July 22, in the evening of July 21 they sent me a message on wahtsapp asking me, being the only participant, if I was okay to change the day for Tuesday with the Val Fondillo excursion or for Wednesday always with the Camosciara excursion. I replied by pointing out that I could not change the date as always with them I had the bear hike that began in the early afternoon and would end late in the evening. They said it wasn't a problem. The next morning the Guide contacted me by phone, I don't remember the name - it's a girl -, who would accompany me on the Camosciara excursion asking me if I had the raincoat as it was raining and rain was expected. I replied that I had all the equipment as specified by them on their site.
Once I was at the agreed time in the parking lot of the Camosciara with the Guide I noted with my amazement and deep regret that the same immediately proved annoyed, unfriendly towards me and both during the hike to the refreshment point at the end of the road where we took a break and also later to the falls turned to me uttering a few words and when I asked some questions gave to see very clearly that it was annoyed. Also once back from the falls to her request if I wanted to independently make a hike or wish to return to the parking lot of the La Camosciara Services Area to my Response that I would return together with her proved even more annoyed. I did not give a lower score that would be more correct just for the positive experience I had the next day with the Domenico Guide - Excursion of the Bear - (I will talk about it separately).

Today 24/07/24 we made a trekking excursion to Lake Vivo with the guide Andrea De Angelis “delle Foreste”. The experience was great, both for the route, challenging in the initial stretch but very beautiful, and for the engaging expertise of the guide Andrea, the added value of the excursion, which gave us historical information, as well as the ecosystem / flora / fauna that inhabit these wonderful places. His cultural inserts, in this already beautiful experience of his own, enriched the day, leaving us many food for thought. The unexpected (because unexpected at that time) rain that accompanied us in almost all the descent was a moment of comparison with our limits, but we were reassured by the experience and tranquility of the guide. The group was heterogeneous in age but really very pleasant. Experience to repeat absolutely. Thank you.

It was a very well organised hike and the communication was great. We did not managed to see any bears but the views and hike was brilliant.

Immersive experience in a territory unknown to me, Umberto, founder and guide of Wildlife Adventures, was an exceptional guide, highly trained and attentive to all the group's needs.

It was supposed to be a snowshoe hike, but it became an even more beautiful excursion, Andrea was fantastic! We will be back as soon as possible!

This really was a great adventure. One of the best in my life .Andrea our guide was first class doing everything he could to get us sightings of wolf, deer, chamois, griffon vultures and golden eagle.We were in stunning moutain landscapes before dawn and walking beautiful trails, with Andrea attentive throughout. The hotel Iris was immaculately clean and very comfortable, with excellent cuisine.
