Beautiful place lovely wildlife excellent cafe. Nice flat walk for miles little muddy in parts. Best coffee and brownies EVER! (cafe closed Tuesdays).

Called as needed to kill some time before an appointment. Great views of the river and estuary along a coastal path. Good place for dog walking

A lovely walk with a proper path, can be made into a circular walk following the road back to the car park. Probably best to keep your dog on the lead if they are prone to jumping in mud due to the marsh and mud.

We arrive at cafe that wasn't open until 10am so we was second maybe 3rd walk in customer we sat inside. The cafe it self was a mess dusk everywhere, cobwebs also food all over the floor and all tables needed a wipe even tho the cafe just opened. There was things to buy but everything was covered thick dust We order 2 lattes 2 pop and 2 breasfast that cost £20 when. The lad bought are lattes over and the milk was off and flotting on top. I then told my partner I Didn't want to eat from there. But when I looked food looked OK 50 minutes we waited for breakfast while walk in people was getting there's food. When breakfast arrived we didn't have any sausage my Toast was cold, egg wasn't cooked so didn't eat breakfast as I'm breastfeeding and couldn't risk it so disappointed to start our day like that on holiday

Beautiful views, plenty of seating, lovely childrens play area, free parking, toilets available, cafe in car park. Great for a family day out or just a countryside walk

A lovely walk from Skippool Creek following the estuary of the River Wyre to the award winning country park. The dogs and grandchildren loved the flat but interesting walk finding lots of nature activities on the way. We have used the cafe before but this time we took a picnic and used one of the many benches available. Of course the kids used the play area and had a great time. A fabulous way to spend the last day of the school summer holidays - hopefully!

Concerning dogs, is it dangerous for them if they go in to the water - ie is the water calm or is there a drowning-risk? My dog does not like lead-walks - they're not suitable for him as he's way too energetic.
Are dogs, allowed off the leash. Are they any wildlife, I'd need to be aware of?

I don't think there's a bus from Blackpool, though you could get bus 4, or 3 to cleveleys bus station then the bus from there into Thornton village, but not directly to estuary, I think it's the 74/75
