Went primarily for the brewery tour, which was very good, if maybe slightly over long for some, but then it gave us lots of info about the monks and abbey, and not just the brewery and its beers, so that was understandable.
Did pop in to the simple but lovely church. We didn't have time to see much of the grounds, and it was also raining, but a quick look suggested it was worth spending 2/3 hours here. That would be ideal if you had some in a party wanting to go round and not do the brewery tour, which was just over 2 hours, so you could please both sets of people.
With regard to the toilets, yes they are basic, but you don't come all this way to worry on their aesthetics; they were functional if you needed them.

We regularly visit Mount St Bernard’s, however, this time, we brought relatives from Australia. Car parking is ample. We visited the shop which sticks religious items, books, pottery, honey, candles and their very own brewed beer. My family bought several bottles to take home, so Tynt Meadow has made its way all the way to Australia! The calvary walk is a must do; the views from the top are panoramic. If you struggle with mobility, please mind the uneven steps! We love watching the gardens change through the seasons, with roses blooming in the summer. A must-visit, serene location in the East Midlands.

We had a lovely afternoon here on Wednesday
The grounds are stunning and it’s worth walking up the hill to the cross and grounds behind
The chapel is a serene place to sit and think
The shop is interesting with lots of religious artefacts
We met the monk who was running it who was really Interesting
Only issue is there’s no tea shop but there is one down the road

Very peaceful place. Raining so didn’t tackle the steps to Calvary. Lovely pottery in the gift shop as well as the famous Trappist beer. Friendly and kindly monks.

Having only recently discovered MSB, I visited on my own on a personal quest for peace. It compares well with Buckfast, which was always a favourite but much further away.
The Abbey is a place to worship and contemplate without interruption and the Office Prayers twice a day are uplifting. Beautiful grounds well cared for and the climb up to Calvary was worth the effort.
The shop provided everything I was looking for, including the famous Trappist Ale, and Maria was most helpful and knowledgeable, and an asset to this place. We had an interesting chat about Pope Benedict. The shop is closed on Sundays which is a good reminder of times past when Sunday was indeed a day of rest.

This is an active Abbey so not really a touristy destination. The Abbey itself is a simple place of worship with attractive grounds to visit. There is a nice giftshop with Tynt Meadow trappist ale - very nice.

Not as peaceful as I remembered from my last visit around 10 years ago. People larking around taking selfies, children screaming. The monks no longer tend cattle, and it all seems a bit commercialised now. Still a beautifully kept place, but I found the shop to be quite expensive overall. Also, some confusion as to where dogs are/are not allowed on the site. Ok for a quick visit if you're passing.

A lovely quiet place to reflect and enjoy. Don't forget to visit the shop (be mindful of closures for prayer times) for either spiritual purchases or, my favourite, their quite superb Trappist Ale - Tynt Meadow.

We visited on a cold and damp day but really enjoyed our visit.
The book shop (new and second hand) had a lot of choice of spiritual and christian books and you are welcome to visit the chapel for prayer or peaceful meditation.
I purchased a case of their most excellent beer but be sure you are not driving before you drink any as it is very strong! I love it,
There are many walking trails but it was too cold and wet to try them so we will be returning.

I am not sure about Sunday's but in the week they have s service before confession. It starts about 2 and you. An go in at any point but they ask for silence in the abbey. Do go - it is lovely. If you are physically able, climb the steps to Calvary. It is well worth it.
