Unique 1850s German Lutheran farming settlement in Melbourne

Our cycle group came here for the tour and morning coffee. The guided tour was very interesting, but a bit long. Fascinating distinction of the way that early German migrants started in what is now suburban Melbourne.

A fascinating story of early German settlement in Victoria

We had a most interesting time discovering the Wendish past of Thomastown and Ziebell farmhouse, the oldest surviving German house in Victoria dating back to 1850 with a most interesting museum, including a video inside. The garden is a delight with some of the original plantings.. The heritage walking trail around the surviving buildings very informative, an eye opener into the German past f ThomastownA
