Awful pub NOT family friendly! Fancied a drink with my partner, daughters and two dogs after a walk around Fairburn Ings only to be told dogs and children are not allowed inside… in December. Had to kill some time whilst my partner went back for the car and they were happy enough to take my money for 3 drinks and 2 packets And only let the girls inside to use the toilet.
For its location nearby a popular walking route I would have expected a more family friendly establishment.
We will not be returning.

Laurie and Graham are lovely hosts along with Donna and Tim... A lovely atmosphere You can't beat a nice clean crisp pint of taddyin good company

Went to this pub just before 'lockdown'. Sam Smith's rule of no technology was firmly but kindly enforced. Soon got over that and realised that it was wonderful to sit and chat without listening to others who in other pubs can't use a phone without shouting into it. Wil be a weekly visitor when it is open again.

Definitely not be entering this pub again. Nice friendly bar maid but Dickensian rule from Sam Smiths to not use your own mobile phone. This is like a dictatorship and very intrusive. Decor tacky and below average and lighting too bright. Not homely. My advice go to Chequers or White Horse a couple of miles down the road. Very homely and friendly and no dictatorship.

Having moved to the area in the last week I got home from work early and took the opportunity to call in for a couple of beers.
Really friendly team with great beer and superb pork scratchings.
Topped off with an open fire.

This is a really nice village pub with an open fire and great staff. It doesn't have any bells and whistles but if you want a friendly atmosphere and a nice pint then this is the place

Very tasty Sunday lunch, cooked to order. Couldn't fault it. Decor and atmosphere a let down. Only 2 high chairs available, therefore have chance your luck.
