We visited the facility on a hot and sunny Sunday afternoon, quite by accident. We were driving by and saw the beautiful building and decided to stop in. We left almost 3 hours later.
We enjoyed all aspects of our visit. We did a wine tasting - 4 white & 4 red along with a meat & cheese board which was superb. Went perfectly with the wine we sampled.
We then went outside to listen to a great local entertainer, who sang & played his guitar, non-stop for 2 hours. It was a perfect location for such an activity.
We walked around the grounds which are positioned perfectly with an outstanding view and breeze from the lake.
We found the staff friendly and knowledgeable and very nice to deal with.
We ended up buying 3 bottles of wine, which when we entered, we had no intention of doing. {we especially like the visual and the taste of the special sea glass bottles}.
We are not from this area but frequent it often as we quite like it here. We will definitely visit again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Sprucewood Shores Estate Winery to any friends coming to this area of S.W. Ontario

Arrived to a Wedding photo shoot. The wedding party and guests were wandering everywhere. It is a lovely venue with the impressive stone winery, spacious grounds with a picturesque pond and a beach front location. They boast it is the only such location in the province.
There has been a lot of criticism regarding staff. To me, they seemed distracted maybe because their attention was divided between the wedding reception preparation and the visitors to the winery. Certainly their attention was lacking.
They gave us only 2 options in wine flights- red or red/ white. There is virtually no choice. You get 4 small servings for $10. At Pelee Island, tasting was free whether you bought something or not.
The kids got Pellegrino and the coolest Charcuterie cones. The paper cone inside a wine glass contained a bread stick, pepperette, cherry tomatoes, grapes, a date, an olive all on top of a serving of cashews. Cost was $10 + tax. They put the wine on a tray and suggested we go down to the beach. It is home to flocks of geese so be careful where you put your feet!!
I didn’t like any of their wines well enough to purchase which is perhaps why they charge for tasting!

We stopped at this family run winery on the Lake Erie shore to enjoy the views and try out their wines. What a beautiful spot, and the wine was excellent.

From during the beginning of the pandemic to after the lockdown has been lifted have I still yet to have a great experience with Sprucewood. Their Staff are unwelcoming (trying to order something and they rather be on their phone the entire time while your trying to enjoy the experience of wine tasting) we ordered a cheese board and since they were on the phone the entire time they “forgot” to get it.
Order a box of wine over 100$ goes missing and had to reach out a couple times to finally get my wine (took about a month). One bottle of Wine was broken when finally received and they forgot to include something in the box they wouldn’t even ship it had to get a family member to pick it up and ship it since we lived further away.
Don’t waste your time planning a wedding here. Yes it’s beautiful but the experience is ATROCIOUS you want to change something because a family member passed away or maybe something in your life came up they don’t care it’s all about the money and it always will be. Maybe you want to change something about your wedding that cost $$$ maybe during a pandemic you can only have it outside and not inside well you have to pay more $$$ just to have it outside.

What a lovely afternoon. Arrived at a pretty empty winery (it’s late November on a weekday) to try a flight of wines and had an utterly fantastic afternoon.
First, Robin (the host) was beyond friendly in her hospitality. She was very interested in making sure I had a good experience, but beyond that, was just genuinely friendly and interested in good conversation about wine. She also was super kind to my dog. (They sell their own doggie treats here!)
Kudos for their Covid precautions. That was much appreciated. Ended up spending close to 2 hours conversing with Robin and a gentleman who came in and sat at the table next to me. What a great afternoon.
The wines were wonderful. I did a flight of reds, and was most interested in the Pinot Noir —- it did t disappoint. It was excellent.
I will add that the setting of the winery is wonderful, right along the shores of Lake Erie. The weather obscured the views, but it was still gorgeous.

Nice building and they have a nice enough venue. Staff seemed somewhat stuffy. Disappointed in the quality of the wines , We tried the better of their reserves. best park of the tasting was that we sat on the beach . Left empty handed on this one .

On August 9, 2021, my daughter visited Sprucewood for a wine experience for her 22nd birthday. She did some samplings and purchased a bottle. She asked if they had any Birthday Specials and they responded with "it's in front of you" referring to her wine and "You can go to Starbucks if you are looking for a special". This is a shocking and downright RUDE response!! A "Happy Birthday" from the staff might have been nice. I have also visited here on a separate occasion with friends and found the staff to be far from welcoming. Will NOT be returning here with my friends or family!! VERY UNKIND STAFF!!

I was so disappointed the server sent over the tray with one of our friends which happened to be the one we were celebrating she had a big sash saying bride to be. When the waitress stopped to bring a glass that was also ordered we asked about what kind of wines we had and who's was which from the tray she remarked oh your friend didnt tell you i already told her.Im sorry ive never had a fleet served like this where we had no clue what we were drinking she still didnt tell us just said these are the yours and yours that was our wine description. When we arrived we asked for the sangria as tbe sign read sangria a pitcher for 27 she said as we were asking if its available you can have it but its not . Im sorry but when i compare this to all the other wineries we visited this was beyond bad service. Maybe it wasnt peek hour but all the other places were fantastic this place i will not be returning and they lost two wedding bookings from this experience because we had 3 brides to be in our group.

We got the picnic basket along with our wine tasting. The bread was excellent. The cheese came in a block in a plastic wrapping that was impossible to open with the plastic knife provided, so we wound up taking it home. The meats came pre-sliced, wrapped in paper, and were excellent. The picnic basket also came with hummus, antipasto, baby carrots and oddly, an unsliced apple and a slightly mangled small piece of brownie. Overall, it was a somewhat difficult picnic to sort out on the beach with limited utensils provided. The beach was quiet and gorgeous - a fantastic breeze from Lake Erie, even on an extremely hot day. There is only one picnic table directly on the beach, so we felt like we got the coveted spot. Unfortunately, that came with a broken umbrella, so we did wind up switching umbrellas with another table. It was certainly self-service in terms of the umbrellas and truthfully, the people at Sprucewood might want to consider putting the umbrellas all up for everyone at the beginning of the day, because it is hard to negotiate the umbrellas with wine and picnic items in hand. The wines themselves were organized by Sprucewood into several options (white, red or sweet wines). In some ways, it makes sense to organize the flights for people, but on the other hand, you don't get full choice of which wines you want to try. There is no discount on the flight of wine, even with the purchase of the picnic basket (which I think is overpriced for what you get). There was also no discount for the flight, even with purchase of several bottles of wine. Many other wineries do provide a discount on the wine purchase after a wine tasting or they comp the wine tasting if you purchase a couple of bottles of wine.

The tour and tasting was very well done. The guide was very knowledgeable and even went off on tangents to enhance the experience by giving extra info. The setup was well layed out with eating areas for having the lunch basket and your wine. Highly recommend taking the wine tasting tour, ours lasted an hour and a half, but we were very curious
