Lots of tracks for all levels. Only given it a 4 as the signs were confusing and we wasted a lot of time working it all out. But once we worked it out, it was lots of fun.

riding and walking these trails is brilliant. Lots of wallabies and roos. Birdlife is everywhere. A great spot to relax and take in nature.

Stromlo is Disneyland for Mountain Bikes with something for everyone from toddlers to world champion downhill racers.
Next to the car park is a large paved area where kids and scooter riders can run around in circles, there's a beginner set of dirt jumps next to the cafe, big clean bathrooms, a great cafe, and the whole place is well sign posted with some fantastic long tracks that scale the adjoining Mt Stromlo.
I'm an amateur with a basic bike and few skills, but I had a great time here, and the trail maps and signs are well set out allowing you to explore the entire site with ease.
There's a huge parking area out front, and even on a busy day you won't run into too many riders once you get clear of the cafe and car park.
There's a number of hour long well-graded tracks that gently scale the mountain then give you a 15-20 minute downhill blast, but also some deadly black runs if you want to risk broken bones and impressive grazes.
And if you're here just for fun, and no exercise, there's a bus that will cart you and your bike to the top for $10 a run, or $70 a day.

This site has everything except a road bike course. Wonderful facility and really hope the alleged 20km road path becomes a reality.

Worth a drive to Mt Stromlo. We visited here many years ago and it gave us a spooky feeling of being watched. It's sad to see that the fires had destroyed the telescopes but it's a great place to visit.

not much people there. need to drive up. peaceful evening stroll. we spend slightly more than an hour there, wish we had more time.

This was my first time to Stromlo forest park. I took my 12 year old son here to mountain bike and it didn’t disappoint. Great flow trails and there is something for all levels. It was mid week so we only did 3 full runs as the shuttle doesn’t operate during the week as there isn’t enough demand. Also the cafe isn’t open during this time. We definitely be going back on a weekend and booking the shuttle to make the most of a full day up there. We took all our own food in an esky as there isn’t anywhere to buy anything. Great day but be prepared and take everything you need to stay on the hill.

Please before you go, don't believe signs indicating cafe, it is shut. Bushfires really devistated the area. Be very careful of kangaroos on the drive up. I would imagine it is a good spot for walking or bike riding. For people with an interest in space, a better to visit is the deep space communication complex.

This was my introduction to mountain biking in Australia, and the terrain is quite different from my native New Zealand - everything is dry and there are kangaroos hoping around. We found the sign-posting at the car park really good. It allowed you to select a loop based on the amount of time you had and the level of difficulty you wanted. Once you set off the loops were pretty well signposted with a loop number. We did come across a couple of signs where the number wasn't listed and we had to backtrack after going the wrong way. This wasn't a big deal as it just provided more riding opportunities.
The facilities were also very good in terms of the number of car parks available.

Hey Team :)
Where would the best campground be to Stromlo Forest?
Looking for the usual amenities of Toilet & Shower.
Heard some 2nd hand reports that many camping ground facilities near Stromlo are ‘dodgy’ and not very good / clean.
No idea if this is accurate, though I suspect this may be a generalization...
Hence looking for a feed on where the best facilities would be ?
So to summarize... Campground with Toilets and Showers, good and clean, closest to Stromlo please 👍🏽
