We leave the car in the indicated parking lot and start the tour, at first a fairly strong but bearable climb with some stops if necessary, then a rather more bearable descent with beautiful landscapes along the way and at the end we reach the crater of the volcano, where you find a curious Hermitage . Highly recommended to do this tour

At the geological level, Santa Margarida volcano is a mixed volcano, which had eruptive phases of strombolian type, and also of phreatomagmatic type. The latter were explosive, and opened a wide circular crater, inside which is the Romanesque hermitage of Santa Margarida de la Cot.

Beautiful volcano with a hermitage inside. The excursion is suitable for all ages, everything and there is a little unevenness, the path is very easy.

Well shod, we covered 30 minutes of walking, which was quite difficult for young children. Below in the crater some souvenir photos. Pleasant moment. Allow two hours for this volcano

Si se viaja a la Garrotxa, es imprescindible hacer una excuersión por la zona volcánica.
Realmente es espectacular la visita a los volcanes y el entorno acompaña enormemente.

Aparcar en el parquing Santa Margarida. Lo hemos realizado en poco más de una hora con dos niños de 4 y 7 años. Es un paseo con algo de subida pero fácil. Las vistas de la ermita dentro del cráter resultan muy bonitas.

Interesante la ruta de los volcanes y la Fageda bosque de hayas milenarias muy bonito.Tambien visitar la Cooperativa de la Fageda donde puedes degustar productos lacteos de gran calidad
