I escorted a group of 43 from our Caribbean cruise on a private shore excursion to the Ocean View Restaurant in Roatan, Honduras. Our two drivers were easily accessible, very friendly and provided commentary to and from our luncheon. I would recommend this small company.

Everything was set up for us by the company! We walked off the cruise ship and the driver was waiting for us where they said he would be! He took us to our zipline excursion which was fabulous and then for our PRIVATE snorkel tour!! I would HIGHLY recommend booking a private day with them, they take you all the way on the other side of the island completely AWAY from all the cruise ship traffic and hundreds and potentially thousands of other people! It was just the 4 of us.. and NOONE within eye sight anywhere! What an enjoyable day! Got to snorkel till we were beat, and not have to fight anyone else for the space.. was awesome! Collette is willing to work with you and get you what you need to have an amazing day of your dreams!

We chartered a boat to Cayo Cochinos. The boat was good and we got to the area and back safely which is always good, but the captain was ill prepared for our request to see the islands of Cayo Cochinos. West Bay Tours is a typical reseller of boats that are parked in the area. People from abroad park boats here and then charter them to offset costs. West Bay attempts to pair the boats with captains on the island and past that they take little ownership past that. That is probably why you will read the boat didn't match the image or description. West Bay Tours was easy to work with and communication was good except in communicating our wishes to the captain. We charted a 34' vessel and was able to snorkel about 40 minutes, took a 15 minute walk down a beach, lunch on a small island for about 45 minutes. The rest was wasted time for what we wanted to do.
Somehow the captain thought we were a fishing charter and I thought we were just trying to catch lunch. After some time I requested I had not wanted to do any fishing. Also, no ladder or rope to get back in the boat after snorkeling, quite difficult. West Bay offered to have the crew give back their tip which we refused and was an absurd offer anyway. Rented several vessels around the Caribbean over the years and this is one I wouldn't use again. We enjoyed the day on the water but that was not our intention.

We arranged for a family tour with Marco. He communicates using WhatsApp, and responded quickly to questions. His response to me after I realized I had him reserved for the wrong day....."no problem". Leon walked us out of the traffic mess in port when we got off the ship. He's funny, smart and has some great stories. When we hooked up with Marco we just said our priorities were a beach and monkeys. Maybe the chocolate place. We went to AJ's first. It was crowded but great. Then we went
to West Bay Beach, learning about the island on the drive. We had some excellent snorkeling there. Marco found a place in the shade, and stayed with us the entire time. We extended our beach time, skipping the chocolate place, and drove back to the port on a different route, getting back in time to wander around before boarding. It was an educational day. No worries about driving a rental. No sharing a bus with people you don't know. And Marco can answer any question you have about the island.

We took the private East end tour with Marco (65$/person). Trip Advisor has no option for family with grown kids. We are all adults. There were 4 of us. Marco gave us a really interesting tour. However, we should have been more clear that we wanted to be back by 2 pm, 3:00 latest as this was our last day. And Marco recommended things that really added to the time. For example, ‘stop at a restaurant for a drink’ in Oak Ridge, plus took us to a restaurant in Punta Gorda that he knew takes a very long time with the food. If it’s listed as a5 hour tour, you need to state that this timing doesn’t include 2 hours for lunch. I think it’s done there deliberately do that the tourists will shop for crafts while waiting for their food. We enjoyed Marco’s knowledge but I slept on the way back to our place and really wished 5 hours had meant 5 hours actually. The listing says the price doesn’t include lunch but it doesn’t say that the time also doesn’t include lunch. Count on this being a full day tour unless you are very specific. It’s aimed at the cruise ships. We were staying on the island for a week. But Thankyou to Marco for lots of great info. If you are taking a cruise, I think this is a good way to see Roatan…or choose a snorkelling tour, also would be great. We were there to go diving and snorkelling. We loved Roatan.

We booked a glass bottom boat tour through West Bay Tours. They sent a wonderful guide, Leon, to pick us up at the pier. I was so grateful because the street outside the pier was a bit chaotic! Leon had a clear sign for us and made the way clear.
Raised in the area, Leon was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions about the island. He acted as a guide and guard, we felt safe and well taken care of. He even went the extra mile by taking us for a second tour for a fair extra charge.

We were not able to board from the pier as two other boats would not move. We were walked down to a small boat where all of us were packed on and shuttled to the catamaran. It was pouring when we boarded, making the boat slippery. The workers on board did not interact with us on a level I expected. They were polite, but not sociable. The trip itself was wonderful because the passengers were friendly and fun. We enjoyed the snorkeling even though the weather was less than perfect. The bathroom was disgusting and toilet contents sprayed up all over the floor when you “pumped” it to flush. I would not do this again with this boat and crew.

Our catamaran trip was awesome! The crew was great, and although the boat is older, the platform in the front was very helpful with the young children in our group, who could walk around without fear of falling into the net or off the boat.

Hello, my husband and I, along with some other family members will be arriving in Roatan on Carnival Magic 5/29/15. The excursions from the ship are not to appealing. I am interested in customizing our day in Roatan. With that said, does your company do that? I was thinking of visiting a monkey park (not caged), the mangrove boat tour, and a place later to enjoy a beautiful clean beach with shade and use of chairs, along with awesome snorkeling. Please let me know if you have something like this available, and if so how much per person. Budget is a factor, so if you have a recommendation other than what I am requesting please let me know.
