Nice ride. Marvin is patient and attentive, everyone feasted. The views are breathtaking. And yet it was cloudy! I imagine good weather! Really feel free, it's worth it.

I did the Mountain & Farm View Ride with Marvin mid-July. It was an outstanding experience! He's the real deal, a superb horseman, and highly entertaining. He demonstrated how some of his horses can "dance" - I had not expected to see a piaffe (dressage movement) in the Costa Rican mountains but it was a thrill! The horses are in great physical shape and clearly cherished.
Marvin has done an amazing job training his horses - they respond beautifully to both experienced riders and those with little riding experience and that's quite an accomplishment.
The scenery on the ride was magnificent with views across numerous wooded mountains and valleys all the way to the Gulf of Nicoya.

Our family of 4 with no riding experience went for a tour during our Costa Rica vacation. Marvin was great. He made us feel at ease. His horses were incredible. They were very responsive. Unfortunately we couldn’t compete the tour due to evening thunderstorm. Hopefully we will come back again!

Marin was absolutely incredible, me and my friend had the absolute best time!!! Cannot recommend here enough, everything about the experience was incredible!!! Definitely worth it if you are in monte verde

Found via Tripadvisor: reassuring and very positive comments for beginners.
Very friendly and fast mail traffic with Janet!
With the car easily found by the perfect location link sent via email.
Marvin immediately reassured us completely, his horses were perfectly trained to do what was expected of them safely, calmly and very disciplined.
Even we, as totally inexperienced horse riders, proved after his explanation to be able to face quite steep sections downhill and uphill in a relaxed way!
We enjoyed beautiful views, interesting explanations about fauna and flora, about the local livestock farming; before we went back up the mountainside the horses were allowed to rest, while we enjoyed a small walk to a beautiful waterfall.
At the end there was some time to increase the speed on the wide mountain path.
With the necessary photos along the way a fantastic experience richer!

We had an absolutely amazing time on our horseback riding tour today. Marvin was a great guide, providing an experience that matched our level of experience. The views were unbelievable. I would highly recommend this tour.

We had already done horseback riding routes on other occasions, but they had been the typical ones of arriving, getting on the horse and starting to walk... and nothing more... the horse almost with its eyes closed towards the Route. It wasn't like that with Marvin. As soon as we arrived, he showed us how to treat his horses and what we had to do to make the horse respond to our requests, and above all he told us that we had to have contact with the horse, because they were very used to affection, so it was very important. Give them pets every little bit. And so it was!
We took a route full of adventure, incredible landscapes and fantastic rancheras sung by Marvin.
I have a little experience but I am used to the horses from my school, however Marvin insisted and gave me enough confidence to gallop with the fantastic mare Rumba, and it was the best thing I did!! An incredible experience! Thanks Marvin for everything!!

Absolute 5/5. Marvin, our guide, was excellent in every way. Not only was he a great teacher to us as beginner riders, but he was very knowledgeable about the horses, the land, and surrounding areas. He made us feel very safe with the horses and made sure to warn us before terrain changes and other obstacles on the trails. The views were outstanding! Incredible to say the least. Marvin said that the views were bad because of the clouds, but they were still astonishing, so if you get the “good” views, I can only imagine what they look like. The horses were probably the most well trained animals we have seen. They responded to commands and were very calm the entire ride, which helped make us feel safe and have lots of fun going up, down, and around steep terrain. Overall, the experience was absolutely worth the $49 per person. No question. If you have the chance to ride, I would suggest the morning because it can get very hot here in Costa Rica and storms happen often in the afternoon. Also, ask Marvin about the local restaurant/bar down the road (it is excellent)! Outstanding!

We have done the route on horseback with Marvin, there were only two of us and it has been wonderful. He has been careful to explain to us how to ride, telling us anecdotes. Unlike others, he is the owner of the horses, they are very well cared for and it is clear that this is not only his job but that the horses are his passion and he has been with it all his life. Very beautiful landscape. Without a doubt highly recommended.

Our ride with Horse Trek Monteverde absolutely exceeded our expectations. Marvin was an excellent guide. He was knowledgeable, funny and prepared us well for our adventure. The location of the ride/farm was stunning, the view will not disappoint. The land honestly reflects an animal sanctuary with healthy cows, fouls, bulls and horses.
We booked last minute and received quality service and fast communication. Great price for the experience.

200lbs (91kg) but if very tall and some experience, can go to 215lbs (97kg) but not for the All Day Tour, this is kept to 200lbs
