We loved everything about this, the small business nature of the tour, the views, our tour guide, the sunset, the animals, everything. The only minor issue was the the fact that the buggies were not very fast or entirely reliable.
Everything else was tops. Highly recommend.

Estuve el pasado verano con mi novia en Costa Rica y tuvimos la oportunidad de realizar esta actividad. Era un día lluvioso (lo que debe ser bastante común en esa época) pero aún así nos animamos a hacerlo y no nos arrepentimos. Fue una experiencia muy emocionante con las increibles bajadas y subidas del camino. Pudimos disfrutar de las vistas y ver de primera mano como viven los ticos en monteverde.
Si os gusta la aventura, animaros a hacerlo. (eso sí, llevaros un chubasquero por si a caso).

My wife and I took the buggy tour on the final day of our honeymoon. We'd had a mix of relaxation and some more active tours. Seems we saved the best till last.
Driving the buggys is such good fun. They seriously shift some. I clocked us at over 60kph at one point!
This is serious off-roading too, crashing through puddles (wear appropriate clothing!), racing through the dirt tracks.
We did stop a couple of time to admire the view. The owner of the buggys (who drives the lead buggy which you follow) didn't appear to speak too much English so I think he just concentrated on tearing about rather than stopping to explain the sights.
Our time in Costa Rica was heavily geared towards eco-tourism and nature but it was damn good fun to put that to one side and have some 4WD buggy action instead!

Este tour es muy emocionante, el guía es muy agradable. Lo recomiendo definitivamente! Se disfrutan vistas bellísimas durante el recorrido!!!

My GF and I had hoped that we'd get to go nuts and get muddy and wild in the hills around the town but realistically expected to just go down a few dirt roads. We went out to the middle of nowhere and did pretty hard core backcountry four wheeling. We switched off driving and both of us enjoyed the challenge of soaking each other blasting through mud and puddles. The price was very reasonable for the experience we had. I recommend this adventure VERY highly and hope I have an opportunity to join them again myself! Bring your wet weather gear.

Our family was 2 adults and 2 kids, 9 and 12 - two each to a buggy. The buggys were a bit old and well used but in good order and went just fine. At $180 for the 4 of us on a 2 hour trip we felt we got good value. Only a stone's throw from Establo hotel. The owners run a small local hotel too and have specialized in trips/excursions too for some years. Mario, our guide, was the father and very pleasant. We met his son, daughter and granddaughter and all were lovely. Buggy trip went great, lots of muddy country tracks to follow up into the hills and greenery. Great views of the sea and nicoya peninsula from the heights we explored. Mario took us to quiet unused bumpy tracks where we could enjoy the buggies and spin a bit in the mud. After the trip we were given a drink and sandwich too. I'd recommend.

This was one of my favorite activities I did while I was in CR for 21 days. The views were absolutely incredible and the buggy was a blast to drive! We definitely got our money's worth as we were out for a little over 2 hours. Carlos took us over some gnarly terrain and at the end, we stopped at a restaurant for a great conversation over some beers (el insistió que hablábamos en español). Really a memorable experience.

The wife and I had a blast driving the buggies all over monteverde. Gura Villegas was a great guide showing us the country roads and wildlife in the area. Also took us to a great little restaurant with really great Tico food. Would recommend and would do over again.

This tour overpassed over expectations 100x. Runned by Dinia and her dad. Very nice people. Dinia picked us up at our hotel. We forgot our camara and she gave us hers and then emailed the pictures to us. Her dad gave us the tour with different stops so we could take pictures of the amazing view. 100% recommended. You won't regret it.
