I just wondered, that as your experience of this years balloon fiesta is so out of line with all the other reviews on here, which day you were there?
A number of people had the same challenge as me with the Saturday being cancelled.
The cancellation is not the issue as it was the right decision although this should have been cancelled days before like many other events in the region due to the weather.
The real issue here is that non of the purchased tickets for the Saturday were usable on the Sunday when the event did happen nor were they refunded. I approached the company via email, facebook and called them and the responses were all the same. “We have a no refund policy”. Knowing they have insurances to cover sich eventualities i find appalling they will not refund consumers.
Its not about the £20 parking its the principle of it. I feel sorry for the traders and staff that also lost money..
Saturday and it was cancelled. The organisers had no respect for their patrons that were prepared to travel to visit. The only reason for paying for parking was to visit the Fiesta and there was little or no communication regarding the cancellation and rescheduling, and no opportunity for refund or substitute. Treating the event as free is another example of their absolution of responsibility. If you want to attract a wider audience and go to the trouble to arrange specific parking arrangements, it is directly connected and therefore is associated not only in costs but responsibility.
If you actually bother to read the other reviews you will see it is not out of line at all, hence the mediocre overall 3 star score. I was there on Thursday
WENT on the Thursday, it’s what you make of it surely?
It’s a free event you pay for parking, this is England dress and plan accordingly?
We had a great time, sad not to see what we hoped for but still had fun and had a fallback plan of Iford Manor garden fabulous
As far as I know you don’t pay to get into the fiesta, and as I no nothing about the parking and it’s rules and regulations or who gets the proceeds of the parking I can’t comment
It rained and blew gales but the organisers still managed to put on a show that was well worth watching. They have no control over the weather, that’s why I said what I said. We had a good time and enjoyed the show. We were there from Wednesday to Monday. We have no knowledge of the parking rules and regulations as were camped in a field opposite gate 7 and walked to the fiesta.
