Hello - we would like to visit in November for 4 nights. My husband is always eaten by mosquitos!! Would you say pool side or roof top would be the better option to avoid biting!! Thanks
I don't think it matters which room style you are in, choose a room that fits your mood. We were in the rooftop room, and the air con kept things cool downstairs in the room, but the top of the stairway was warm until you stepped outside the door, and it was really nice out on the rooftop deck and jacuzzi.
I would bring a repellant that contains DEET, and at the highest concentration that is safe to apply regularly. There are more mosquitoes outside of the hotel itself, in fact, the rooms included a can of repellent in case you do get a little bugger in your room and an electronic deterrent that is plugged into the wall near the door. In addition, there was a white bottle of lemongrass based repellent cream in the room. It smelled great but wasn't effective for me.
I found that I was devoured if I was out and about the property and out and about town and didn't load up on repellent.
The eating areas at the resort can be problematic. Because it is very nice there, the walls are all open to the sun and sea breeze, the cooler (not cool, but cooler) nights and the sea breeze, and mosquitoes. With that, the staff will place an incense ring under your table. That may help the average person, but for those that are dinner for mosquitoes, you will need to prepare yourself with heavier artillery before you go.
I was told that the mosquitoes are seasonal. I have only been there during July, so all I know is that July is a month with mosquitoes.
Some impractical advice, stay indoors at dawn and dusk, that is when the mosquitoes are "most active". Pfft, they stay out late too, and sometimes all night!
Don't let the mosquitoes deter you from going though, Let's Sea is an outstanding place to stay and enjoy a level of service that is really top notch!
You will get mosquitoes pretty much everywhere in South Asia.
We had a poolside room and never had a problem with mosquitos. In fact we didnt have a problem all holiday with them, we did use a body spray so perhaps thats the answer. Hope you enjoy Hua |Hin as much as us.
Definitely pool side. I would not guarantee it is mosquito free with pool side, but I could 100% guarantee you will be mosquito feast when you are in roof top. One tip for you, there will be anti-mosquito arrangement near evening, please let the staff know if they are missing. There is a souvenir shop next to restaurant, the anti-mosquito lotion is great and smell good. Hope you enjoy. xoxo
Mosquitoes attacks are more around 7pm, during your dinner time. Recommend light long pants and Lemongrass oil on the feet
I had a poolside room so I did not have problems with mosquitoes. As my fellow travelers said there are repellents provided by the hotel and there is also an electronic mosquito repeller next to the entrance door. The beds are designed with a couple of sockets behind the headboard next to your pillows, so if needed do ask for extra electronic mosquito repellers and plug them in next to your bed. They do not smell. I also think the organic lemongrass repellent cream was not very effective.
I didn’t experience any problems with mosquitoes in the pool level room as mosquitoes are not attracted to moving water. I cannot comment about the rooftop room as I didn’t have one . The times I was bitten by mosquitoes was when I was out and about - say at the markets. Mosquitoes will inhabit thick moist vegetation so try to avoid that , use a deet repellent and keep arms/ legs etc covered at dawn/dusk in particular
We had a roof top room and didn't suffer any bites. I'm afraid I can not comment on pool side rooms. Let's Sea is a beautiful place, enjoy. Janet
