Does this hotel have a choice of smoking or non-smoking rooms
Also is there anything nearby within walking distance from the hotel? Shops? Restaurants? Supermarkets?
How long does it take to get into town to see tourist attractions from your hotel.
Thanks in advance. Looking at booking for a stay at the end of May
Thanks in advance
Taj Land's end is at the end of Band Stand which is one of the tourist place in itself.
Once you come to the road facing sea, on right you have rocky beach (Band Stand) and on left a small fort and landmark of Mumbai - Bandra Worli Sea link.
Right side of the road connects you to Bandra which is one of the better places to live in Mumbai with plenty of eateries (Of all price range), shopping malls, shopping streets (3-4KM).
For room type (Smoking or Non) I don't know.
Hotel has nice pool, spa and some good restaurants. We had nice there.
As per my knowledge, there seems to be no choice for smoking - non smoking rooms.
Also, talking about restaurants, there are a few inside the hotel itself. However, in case you wish to go for shopping or dining, you can either walk in the evenings to MET area (has a lot of food shops and restaurants in the area) or take an auto or cab to Pali Hill / Bandra market for shopping. The market and a lot of good restaurants are within 2-3 km radius of the hotel (also you may want to go to the Carter's Road at night, it is a happening place).
Further, in case you wish to go to town, it would take you approximately 45 minutes by cab during non-peak hours (I would recommend travelling during peak hours). Some other attractions are also within the same time range (may vary from 45 mins to 1 hour, during non-peak hours).
hi smoking non smoking am not sure
walking distance restaurants and shops yes
super market I don't think so.
rest you can call the hotel and ask.
Hello again Caroline - I am not sure about smoking and non smoking rooms. It can take well over an hour to get into the centre of Mumbai. It depends on what time of the day you leave.
Hello Caroline. The hotel is quite a way from the centre of Mumbai. It is close to shops, restaurants and night markets by tuc tuc. The hotel is really helpful - loads of info on fabulous places to get to and see. Plus side is the pools and gardens are glorious. A taxi will always get you into the city. I did however feel slightly isolated, last time I was there we stayed in the centre so could walk to most places or hop in tuc tucs and explore. I hope this helps.
