This is an impressive hotel. The lobby is a large towering space beautifully decorated with incredibly ornate and enormous wooden carved picture and large and jade wall carvings. The welcome and service was equally impressive.
This is a relatively new hotel completed in (2019). It has a beautiful courtyard with pond, waterfall and several other other features. The hotel has underground and above ground parking. It is located near the motorway and train station.
The interior is thoughtfully designed and is clean and well maintained. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Although, space has been designed for a room fridge they have not been fitted which is unfortunate. Rooms also have complimentary phone charging cables connect to the room telephones.
We booked a double and twin room each costing just over 400RMB with breakfast great value. This was our last stop over night on a long road trip so we thought we might get a massage. Unfortunately, the hotel massage price was exorbitant at around 700RMB for a 60min oil massage. We decided to give this a miss!
We had a BBQ dinner which due to the rain was inside. It was a great way to end a day's driving. The morning breakfast buffet was superb with a wide range of fresh, quality choices. This was especially impressive due to the low number of guests (because of COVID reducing travel). It catered perfectly for both Western and Chinese tastes. The staff were extremely hospitable and made the dinning experience memorable. They even turned the coffee machine back on 10mins after close of breakfast to accommodate our desire to have another drink.
We will return to Wuyuan to explore in the future and look forward to staying again at this impressive, well run hotel.
