This is one of the best places we've ever stayed. The family owners attended to our every need. It is immaculately clean and tastefully decorated. The couple have completely renovated a 120 year-old-home to make it modern, while keeping the charm. It is quiet and relaxing with beautiful views, as well as hiking trails. The young couple even cooks a 3-course dinner for you upon request. It was very worth it. It's on Highway 134 which is also a beautiful drive.
We hebben het uitstekend naar ons zin gehad en zijn in alle opzichten verwend door de vriendelijke eigenaren en hun kinderen. Thon en Hermien
Five of us stayed at this charming peaceful inn while researching our Norwegian roots. We had the three rooms to ourselves, and were able to use the beautiful breakfast room for planning our day trips, reading and checking e-mail. The couple who own and renovated this inn were both helpful and non-intrusive, as well as being very good cooks. This was the perfect place for a family group of adults, but would also be fun for a family with children, as the hosts have two lovely kids of their own.
We found this little gem on our trip through Norway in July 2008. As it only recently opened after renovations it was not in any of the Trip Advisor’s reviews. The guesthouse has only three rooms but they are all lovingly restored and the beds are heavenly so we had a very good night sleep although the house is located on a main road. The two bathrooms and the toilet are located just outside the bedrooms and with only three guest rooms I don’t think there will ever bee a problem with waiting for the bathroom. The rooms also have a wash basin, also nicely fitted into the décor with little scented goodies provided. We arrived late in the evening and enjoyed a very good meal cooked and served by the owners who are very enthusiastic about their new/old guest house. We asked them about the history of the former occupants and were be amazed by all the details they gave us. They are however not overbearing and left us in the very comfortable living room where we could sit and read. Breakfast was served and was very good with a great variety and even freshly baked muffins. The adjacent little shop/museum which they have also restored and in which they decorated all the old treasures they found on the premises is unbelievable. They showed us around and again, had a story to just about every item on display. Our stay was too short to enjoy the wonderful surroundings for long but we had only planned this as a stop over on our trip to the fjords. We can recommend the guest house to everybody on their travels through Telemark.…
