This place may have bee great once, but now its just not. We were stuck there for 7 days with no transport, no resturant, no bar (the bar looks like a migrant camp) the biggest blow was we checked out and the owner tripled charged us a lot of money, we said no and then we had a week of threats and online abuse from her. The beacvh is just rocks and rubbish and there is little to no lighting at night to walk through snake infested grass. We have lived in Thailand 17 years and never experienced anything like it. It was shamfull the way we were treated, scammed and then threatened. Disgusting place.

There are only two bungalows, one set back from the water among the trees and a large bungalow which overlooks a private black sand beach. The owner Gop met me upon arrival and showed me to the large bungalow and explained available services given the current situation. The fan is sufficient, the cable TV is all Thai channels and the lighting is adequate. The bed was comfortable enough with clean linens. There was a wardrobe with hanging space and a shelf. The windows had insect screens and there was a screen door as well. The bathroom was spacious with a segregated shower area and power points. The water heater produced lukewarm water and the pressure was okay. Nice wrap around terrace area included tables and chairs, hammocks and outside kitchen. The restaurant menu was limited due to the situation. Gop delivered my breakfast to me each morning. I had dinner down at the bar area. There is not really much to do on the island but if you want peace and quiet and a place to relax and chill with your own black sand beach then Dugong Resort is for you. Would be excellent for a family stay. The owner Gop is very friendly and helpful. She can attend to any needs you may have, whether food, transport, general advice etc. DO NOT forget your insect spray. You will need it on any of the islands that you stay.…

Dugong is een heel klein resort op een groot landgoed met maar twee bungalows. Één aan zee en één iets verder landinwaarts. De bungalows zijn best prima, maar hebben geen wifi en geen airco. Als je voor je rust komt of een boek wilt schrijven dan is dit de ideale plek. Zoek je vertier of nachtleven kom dan niet naar dit eiland. Kom je wel, neem dan voldoende contant geld mee, want er is hier geen ATM, geld opnemen op het vasteland is een hele onderneming. Het resort wordt gerund door Gop, de eigenaresse, zij doet werkelijk (bijna) alles om het haar gasten naar het zin te maken. Er komt geen einde aan haar vriendelijkheid. Wil je iets bijzonders eten? Goedkoop internet op je telefoon? Goedkope sigaretten? Je was gedaan hebben? Dan wordt dat geregeld en de kosten zijn altijd laag. Dat laatste geldt ook voor het restaurant; prima gerechten en heel betaalbaar. Maar om bij het restaurant te komen moet je een trapje af dat een makelaar “rustiek” zou noemen, maar een bezoeking is voor iemand die niet goed ter been is. Toen mijn vrouw, die een rollator gebruikt, de eerste keer dat trapje af ging werd zij direct geholpen door Gop. De trap op werd ze door een keukenhulp begeleid. 's middags hoorden we gezaag en getimmer, 's avonds zagen we dat er een nieuwe leuning aan het trapje bevestigd was. Moet ik nog meer zeggen? Sommige vogels die hier te horen en soms te zien zijn hebben roepen die wij niet kennen van eerdere reizen. De zeearenden die hier nestelen herkenden we uiteraard wel. Neem een goed boek over Aziatische vogels mee, je zult er veel plezier aan beleven…

We spent 3 days at Dugong bungalow and bar, a little nest by the sea in a very nice green area. There are 2 bungalows, very comfortable and quiet. The place is run by Gop who is very nice and helpful to organise what you need, boat trip, etc. She rents scooter and bicycles. It is very nice also to have a drink or food at the bar with a beautiful view. We asked for a massage and a guy came to our bungalow, we had the best massage in Thaïlande. We highly recommend to stay at Dugong if you want to come to Koh Sukorn.
