这所美丽的大酒店建于1850年,在法尔茅斯海边傲立了一个多世纪,雄伟壮观。现任经理对它开展了一系列的升级翻修,此间发现了大堂老旧地毯下最原始时期的马赛克地板,真可谓一段令人赞叹的历史。 房间的舒适程度令人惊叹,且十分干净。那里的一切足以让人度过一个温暖惬意的假期。酒店的菜肴卖相极佳,口味一流,菜单十分丰富。全体员工都彬彬有礼,态度友好,不怕麻烦。 酒店有一个漂亮的泳池,最近刚刚翻修完毕。另有水疗馆,你可以好好慰劳自己。园林打理得井井有条,虽然不大,但逛一逛也非常有趣,各处都有休息区,可以坐下来看看海景,日落时景色真是美极了。 我认为这家酒店非常值得尝试。它的位置极佳,走路可以到市内,同时又在海边。 这是个极好的度假场所,我和我丈夫都很推荐。我们还会再来。 不过要注意,这酒店目前在逐步进行更新,所以会有一些施工,不过这不影响住宿的舒适度,只是提醒大家,有些地方可能看起来会比较陈旧些。

There are so many positive points about staying with us - from the hospitality, the location, and the history, to the quality of our food and dining. It is a shame that on occasion people are not able to see through some of our aesthetic issues, to the beauty underneath. 酒店本来应该很好的,就是应该在细节方面再注意一下,其他点评里也说了,这里正在装修,可是有些地方比如楼梯地毯早在几年前就应该换换了。 我和老婆住的是标准双人间,总体上还可以,就是浴室既没有百叶窗也没有浴帘! 服务员友好热心,早餐也不错,酒吧和休息区也可以。也许会再来的。

Dear FrankJ123, Thank you for your review of your recent stay with us. I completely agree that some areas of the hotel, like the carpets that you have referred to, should have been replaced some years ago. Unfortunately, due to a myriad of reasons they were not, and the hotel has suffered for it. But that was then, and this is now. In our entrance there is a beautiful mosaic, that dates to when the hotel was built, 150 years ago. For the last few decades it has been covered with a carpet, which slowly became threadbare and worn. It took myself and two members of staff a matter of hours to remove the carpet, and scrub the mosaic. This was something that could have been done by anyone over the last 10 years (and longer!) - but no-one did it. We are dedicated to restoring the Falmouth Hotel back to its former glory, and will stop at nothing to get there. I could list the plans we have for this year, but I have already mentioned them in other responses. Suffice it to say that within the next six months there will be major improvements, and more to come. We look forward to welcoming you back, and showing you what we have achieved. 酒店看起来有些旧,在色调方面可以做一些改进。我们房间的门是白色的,但是门锁和把手的地方都成黑色的了——应该好好洗掉的。我们的房间很大,面朝大海,尽管我们房间的窗户在玻璃隔层间看着很模糊,从半个窗户很难看到大海,刚开住印象很好,但是住了3个晚上之后这种感觉也消退了。相连的两个房间里面的客人的谈话和做的事情都能听清楚,有人路过楼道的时候也能听到声音。浴室地板发疯似的吱吱作响,并且没有办法停止这种响声。厕所也不能冲水,服务人员很快就能修好,这种情况一定经常发生,因为他们知道怎样修复它。来修理的是酒吧的一位侍者(希望他修好之后返回酒吧时候能洗洗手)。早餐还可以,但是第一天早餐我们吃了热餐之后我们的饮料和烤面包还没有来(面包又冷又湿),所以我们又点了一次,冲咖啡的时候,水壶里只有热水,服务员告诉我说我搞错了,水壶里面是咖啡,我冲咖啡冲的不对?当她掀开盖子的时候,说女士您是对的,里面没有咖啡!!最后弄好咖啡的时候,咖啡变的很淡,就好像在喝热水一样——第二天我们点的是浓咖啡。酒吧和接待处的服务员都很优秀。

Dear Jeanette S, Thank you for your candid and useful comments regarding your recent stay with us. The feedback from our guests is critical in driving the hotel forward, and I apologise for any problems that marred your stay with us. Regarding the issues with your service at breakfast, and the "magic" cafetiere, it would be very helpful if you could contact me directly on my email (christopher.roberts@richardsonhotels.co.uk) so that I am able to know the dates that you stayed with us. It is not the correct standard of service that I expect from our team, and I would like to establish who was on duty that morning. By knowing further details of your stay I will also be able to look at the issues with your room. It is the first time I have been made aware of noise traveling between bedrooms, and I would like to be able to see if this can be rectified. In our ongoing plan of refurbishments, we should be addressing the issues of creaky floorboards wherever possible. At points during the day when our maintenance team are either busy, or have departed for the day - in order to swiftly address any issues, we do send any other available member of our team. With bathroom suites of the same type being fitted throughout the hotel, it is often easy to identify a problem. All our front-of-house team are trained in food handling Health and Safety procedures, and know the correct protocol after having carried out any maintenance work. We have a lot of ongoing issues (e.g. the misted up parts of the antique double-glazing) that are intrinsically linked to a building of this age, that we are striving to remedy. 法尔茅斯酒店位置好,住在这里游览康沃尔南部非常方便。整个城市充满活力,有很多地方可玩。酒店地理位置优越,面向大海,从这里到城里和沙滩都仅需几步之遥,就是太旧了。 酒店年岁已久,亟需调整翻新。环境怪怪的。即使在复活节假期,我还以为会有些美好的节日气氛,但最终这里给我的感觉就是临时小旅馆。进一步说明,这里的住客大多是忙碌的生意人。这家酒店就像是生意人的办公地点,但事实上不该啊。晚上,酒吧就像个工人俱乐部,没有女人,全都是穿着牛仔和卫衣的小伙子,恨不得把脚踩到桌子上去。我们还是不去酒吧了。 早餐还可以,没什么特别的。 我们的房间面向大海,但是很想,虽然刚刚装修过,可浴室设施已经陈旧。我们只能自己要吹风机,还意外地收到了上个住客落在床上的洗好的衣服。 工作人员态度很好,对于酒店的这一切,他们也很无奈。 我们也曾住过理查德森的其他酒店,一直都感觉不错,但是这里,我是不会再来了。

Dear Rufbox, Thank you for your comments regarding your stay, and I am sorry that you felt that our other guests and local clientele detracted from the occasion. We are fortunate to be a hub of the local community, and as such, amongst our regular guests we do supply accommodation for many travellers who have business links with community. Being in a prime location, with our proximity to the heart of Falmouth and spectacular views over Falmouth Bay, we often have many locals who use our bar facility throughout the day and the evenings. Without further information about the dates of your stay, I cannot comment on the particular clientele who were present; I can however state that last night our bar was a hubbub of activity. From families with children, to couples on a weekend away. We also had a 70th birthday celebration with a family staying in the hotel. We always appreciate feedback from our guests, however on this occasion I do feel that the 2/5 rating that you have given us is a little unfair. Even if I use your own evaluation of Rooms, Cleanliness, Service, Location, and Value in your review, the average works out to 3/5. It is unfortunate that users of Trip Advisor do not sometimes realise how damaging their reviews can be - especially when they have not even used many aspects of the hotel. You have said that you did not use our bar, and judging by the absence of comments regarding our rosette awarded Restaurant food and our completely refurbished leisure complex, it seems that you did not use those either - both of which regularly receive a lot of praise from our guests. You may have found your stay more enjoyable had you taken the opportunity to experience all the hotel had to offer. There are aspects of the hotel that need "TLC", a situation that I am acutely aware of. It has a lot to do with the mistreatment of the hotel and lack of investment by previous owners. Myself and my team are dedicated to remedying these issues, and have already made huge steps in restoring the "Grand Dame of Falmouth" back to her former glory. We have a steady ongoing program of refurbishment, which has meant that on occasion a bedroom has been refurbished - with the bathroom refurbishment to follow at a later date. In the last 6 months we have refurbished the leisure complex, repainted our reception, carried out remedial works in a huge number of bedrooms, completely refurbished our suite (still ongoing), redecorated our bedroom corridors, and reinstated the hotel's original 150 year old mosaic flooring. This year we will be replacing our stairwell carpet and redecorating the stairwell, refurbishing another 13 bedrooms, installing new wifi throughout the hotel, and redecorating our restaurant. We care for our hotel, and we are reinvesting to ensure that any issues that have resulted from past mistreatment are negated. Alongside this philosophy, we ensure that by over-delivering with our hospitality, and quality of food - from our personal welcome letters, to our homebaked breads, we can overcome our short-term aesthetic issues. I am a little disappointed with the absence of the hairdryer in your room, and the mix-up with the other guests' returned laundry, and I will be following this up with our Head Housekeeper to ensure that similar situations do not happen again.
