The rooms are small. However, we managed with it. The placement of everything in the room was an efficient use of space and modern. The bed doubled as a bed/couch. If you are traveling with a friend, the bathroom is a bit odd. In that you can use the bathroom mirror wall as a wall as you take a shower, or as a mirror over the sink. It’s slides. So if you don’t want someone to see you naked, you need to use the wall for the shower, because the shower has a see through glass wall. But you can remedy it by sliding the wall.

One guess is there is a small pool on the roof deck next to the bar and and children playing in the pool during the evening would be messy, and not the noise this hotel is looking for. They also have cocktail/wine/beer tasting and it's just not a place for children. We found the hotel to be very caring, I got sick and when asked where I was during breakfast, my husband said he was bringing me toast and tea. A staff person said 'let me know when you are about to go back to your room and I will have that for your wife'. We had a great week in Barcelona and staying at the Rec was a super plus.

We were in the hotel for New Year’s this year and the pool was full of water...so I imagine if you wanted to swim you could anytime of the year....we didn’t as the weather was cold but I imagine towards April/May it would be fabulous
