I visited the hotel, and unfortunately, I forgot my watch in my room on check-out. A few days later, I got a call from the Hotel Manager, asking if I had lost/misplaced my watch. I had completely lost hope of ever getting my phone back, and I wasn't even sure if I had left it there. I am grateful for the kind gesture and professionalism, and commend management for all they took to trace me and hand back my watch. The watch is quite pricey.

Unfortunaly a phone was stolen from our room (room number E1). According to management that same night another phone was stolen from another guest. Management was kind enough to move us to another (more safe) room but the phone was gone forever.

The hotel and its facilities are excellent.We stayed there for a week and we were well received and catered for.The staff is excellent with margaret being a wonderful proprietor.There rooms are clean and cheap.The security is guaranteed and no fear of loosing your property.I can't wait to visit them again in October this year 2012.When at Mtwapa,the best place to reside is at estate gate.

I have just returned after a one month stay at the Estate Gate hotel and must say what an excellent place to be,I was welcomed by the owner Margaret and kids along with the manager Mr Elijah. We agreed the price 1300bob a night with breakfast and was made to feel at home from the the start. The room was large for a single, 6 by 6 bed I felt lost in it at night, breakfast was very nice and they also have a menu should you require lunch or evening meal, no alcohol is served but plenty of soft drinks are available.There is a lovely pub just next door open all hours, my other new home. I will be returning early December without hesitation.you can walk to
Tamu Tamu 10/15mins or the local beach 15/20 mins depending on your pace, No swimming pool, but I just sat on the roof if I didn't want to go to the beach
