想在一家好的酒店度过一次生日，但是没想到在这家酒店收到的是如此的服务和对中国客人的歧视。餐厅经理所作所为真的令人无语。 I made a reservation two days in advance via your website, specifying that it was for my birthday. However, upon arrival at approximately 3:30 PM, I waited at the entrance for some time without being acknowledged by any staffs. Even when noticed, a female server in a light green uniform completely ignored me and continued with her tasks. Only after a manager intervened was the server instructed to seat us. Throughout the entire experience, I felt unwelcome; there were no greetings, no name usage, and no recognition of my birthday. Once seated, Ms. Mon took our order. She was consistently unsmiling and responded to my questions with a poor attitude. We ordered one afternoon tea set and one drink. Ms. Mon displayed a clear air of disdain, perhaps because our order was small; however, we had already eaten lunch and didn't wish to waste food. The afternoon tea itself was mediocre. While we were eating, we observed a group of older ladies at a nearby table celebrating a birthday. Upon being seated, Ms. Mon and her staffs immediately presented them with a birthday cake and sang Happy Birthday. This was not afforded to me. This constitutes discriminatory treatment of international customers. I am extremely disappointed. Only after requesting it did Ms. Mon eventually bring a birthday cake, claiming ignorance (a claim I find unconvincing). As a staff of management level (her suit indicated this), shouldn't she have been briefed on daily reservations and special requests before starting the day? I am shocked at the level of service, and apparent discrimination against Chinese guests, at such a renowned luxury five-star hotel. It falls far short of Forbes or LQA standards; indeed, it lacked even the most basic respect. The experience utterly ruined my birthday. I will not return to your hotel, and friends who had booked rooms there have cancelled their reservations after hearing about my experience. Your hotel is beautiful, and your products are great, but the fundamental service is abysmal.
E&O hotel is the fantastic hotel in Penang, it is located by beach and walking distance to the old street.
Very nice view from hotel room and swimming pool. The breakfast is rich, chef Abdullah and Kaali provide the best quality food and service there, Kamal and his service team is great too.
We stayed quite long in this hotel for holiday, receptionist Chin Bee and Nesh helped us a lot while our staying.
Not sure but you may have to go for a suite. E & O is on the water about 15mins walk to Comtar and bus station it’s an easy walk and you’ll find great little shops ,wall art ,markets and of course the wonderful food Enjoy beautiful Georgetown E $ O is superb
I prepaid on the E&O website then paid at the end of my stay using Amex. You could probably pay cash MYR but you would still have to pay the money changer's turn.
Hi Mark, if youre into that colonial feel, then the best is to go with Heritage Wing suite! its really nice and give you that heritage kind of feel! i stayed in Heritage Wing, both the pools is nice, you still have access to both the pools no matter which wing youre in. There are full of history on their wall that you can check out and the gallery too. Dont forget to check out the echo-dome lobby. You can check out the packages via their website but i would suggest to try Heritage wing. All the best
