Stayed in this place during December 2023 start of winter
Location- The place is less than 5 mins walk from kokura station (JR and Shinkansen) along the main road, and is very close to family mart, manga museum and aruaru city, restaurants (less than 3 mins walk)
Staff- very courteous and welcoming; process of check in and check out is very swift, less than a minute literally
Facilities- room is spacious for a solo traveler. Complete with air dryer, electric kettle, refrigerator, mug and glass. The bed is very comfortable, aircon functions well and quietly, up to 30 C. The bathroom is clean with well functioning heater for both shower and faucet. The japanese toilet is also well functioning with heater. The bathtub has enough space for me to stretch my legs (I am 5 ft tall). The outlets are 110 V. The laundry is available at the 2nd floor
Toiletries and skin care- you have to get them at the concierge prior to going up but it is basically complete. The shampoo, soap and conditioner is available in the room.
Food- haven't tried the restaurant, but I will the next time I stay there. There are drinks and ice available in the vending machine at the 2nd floor.
For the price I got, it delivered and more. While I was mostly out during my stay in Fukuoka, I could consider staying in this hotel and do nothing, it is that comfortable. What is unique to this hotel is they have a manga library, wherein you can borrow books while you are staying.
Overall, I am all praises for this hotel. Will definitely book here when I come back.
Initially we booked a hotel adjacent to Kokura station, but due to current construction to that hotel, we decided to switch to another hotel nearby the station.
We chose this hotel after we saw the uniqueness of this hotel, where they displayed comics and books at their lobby. We finally found out that hotel guests could borrow and read these books and comics during their stays. It's only a 3-minute walking distance from the station, but please note that there was no shelter in case of rainy days.
Another selling point was that they were offering free breakfast and dinner for their guests. How awesome that was.
The rate was also good and affordable. The room was tiny but spacious enough to open a big luggage. The view from our window was great. We could even see a ferris wheel at a distance.
The check-in and check-out processes were smooth and seamless.
The only main issue was that the aircon could not be controlled. It stopped for a long time before started again. It even had a human voice which was pretty loud and annoying. I was almost sleepless for 2 nights we stayed there.
