This is a nice little Hotel in a great location. Walking distance to all the shopping and restaurants. They had a good live band and fire going in the courtyard. The room was clean and well equipped with micro, fridge and coffee pot. I live in Denver and will come back.
First a disclaimer, we stayed here on July 4th night. Grand Lake normally has a big fireworks display over the lake, and it seems like the whole town was set up in a festive atmosphere for the evening. (Fireworks were cancelled due to COVID restrictions) The room was fine and we felt safe. Check in was kind of unusual as I had to go into the bar and ask around for someone to check me into the attached motel. The room was clean but obviously dated. There was no AC in the motel, and it was a bit hot that night. Coupled with the fact that there was a live band late into the night in the courtyard and opening the windows would have only made the issue worse. It would have been an issue if we had not spent the day hiking in the Rocky Mountain National Park and were exhausted. Loud music or not, we all fell asleep anyway. I don't blame these guys for that. I booked a room with an attached outside bar area. They were having fun, the music was good. It was just kind of the luck of the draw. I hold no ill will for that. It was literally the ONLY room left in that town when I did my booking so I was glad to have a room period. The staff was very friendly and the town was neat. It's obviously a town that makes it's money from foot traffic and tourists. We have small boys and there is a great public park with a huge playground for free just a few blocks down. It was a nice way to spend some time after eating dinner.…
This place had good reviews but was absolutely not up to expectations. All bedding including sheets, blankets and pillowcases were covered in both dog and human hair. We were charged an additional $14 plus tax for “ special deep Covid19 cleaning” and told to wait an extra hour after the check in time, but actually were in one of the dirtiest rooms I have ever paid for. It was difficult to find someone to check in or handle the room. This is a very poorly organized and run business.
This is a small property that is clean and well kept. There is a courtyard area with patio furniture and a gas-fire pit. The night is filled with conversation and laughter with other guests. Grand Lake is quaint with many places to eat and shop. We are at a local bakery for breakfast and Sagebrush for supper (would probably try someplace else for supper). The food and service was good at both places. Adams Falls is a great place for a fairly easy walk. Go past the falls at the top of the trail — about 150 yards past is a beautiful meadow. The pics are of the meadow past the falls and the balcony of the hotel.
Grand View Mountain Lodge is the best place I have ever stayed. Right off the bat the owners made me feel like family and talked to me like I was one of their own. The room was just right, comfortable and easy to use. The property is situated right at the beginning of all the shops and restaurants making it a great location to walk from and get everywhere in town. At night they light a fire and will invite you to just sit, relax and enjoy one of the most amazing views you can get. I cannot say enough positive things about the owners, the lodge and the way I was treated. I highly recommend this be your choice for the place you stay while on vacation in Grand Lake, you will not be disappointed.
