The Winter Park Resort is my least favorite ski resort since I have been skiing for the past 38 years. the 2 towns closest to the resort have limited restaurants with good menus and Monday and Tuesdays a lot of the restaurants are closed. Wifi driving instructions are not good and the roads in Fraser are not well maintained during the week we were there. Only hae front wheel drive and had to be pushed out of road area 2 times that was not maintained well.
We visited winter park to ride the Alpine slide and attend happy hour at Sunspot grill. The Alpine slide was super fun and well worth the visit. The Sunspot grill is cafeteria style with beautiful vistas. Overall we were pleased with our choice to check this out.

This resort was small, but beautiful. Prices were high as expected. The Alpine slide was incredible, and the staff were very accommodating as it was our youngest child’s first time, and she was scared. In fact, all of the staff at the resort were very nice. The gondola ride was fun. It did take a long time to drive from the Denver area, and we only ended up riding the alpine slide twice, and gondola once, before the weather changed, and the lifts were closed. As we are from out of town, it did not make sense to get a rain check as they offered, but we did not feel we got our money’s worth. We did appreciate free parking in the garage.

Winterpark resort is amazing it has everything you need and more. Let start with every single employee from the lifts, ski school coach , locker room attendant, cafeteria employees, the lady at the gate to park etc. literally every employee or person we interacted with was genuinely helpful and kind. We stayed at Zephyr Lodge, as a mom traveling alone with kids, I cant recommend that enough. Walking with kids& ski gear/clothes can be a lot even if it’s just a few buildings back but Zephyr is feet from rentals , food & lifts etc. the cafes are clean , have good food and lines move quickly. The lines at the lifts got long but went really fast. There are numerous restaurants and shops. The views are incredible. We love Winterpark so much that we rarely consider a ski vacation at another resort.
