Dear Jane A., Thank you for taking the time to share your comments. I sincerely apologize that you feel as though we provided you with poor customer service. As you can see by the various feedback from fellow travelers, we strive to make every guest’s experience special. We want to make this right for you, and I understand that Best Western’s central reservations has compensated you with bonus points. I apologize if someone misspelled your name, but I want you to know that this has no relation to charging your credit card as there is no correlation between the two. In addition, we do not ask for advanced deposits so we would not have attempted to charge your card until you arrived to check-in. The only exception to this is if we have a special running where we are able to offer a discount for advanced purchase bookings. In this case your card would have been charged immediately upon booking with your approval. I hope you can understand my concern as what you’ve described is not our protocol and would not have caused your room to be cancelled. In further research it shows that the Pheonix headquarters canceled your reservation upon request at the beginning of May. I sincerely apologize for this if cancelling was not your intention. We would like to learn from our mistakes to ensure we’re consistently providing superior service to our guests. We will certainly be in contact with the reservation line through Best Western to ensure this does not happen again. 4月9号的时候在这家酒店住过。酒店正好位于南波特兰的第一大街上,很容易找。有一家餐厅附属于这家酒店,可以向酒店顾客提供免费的热乎的早餐。好感动。 登记很迅速简单。停车很简便。房间里有很大的平板电视但没有微波炉或者冰箱。那些喜欢泳池的人,在这里他们会得到满足。我们觉得床很舒服。房间很干净但酒店有些老旧了而且暖通空调是按钮式的而不是电子控制的。对于我们所得到的来说价格很合适。

Dear LynetteG64, We want you to think of us as a 5! Thank you for your feedback, we will work on the issues you mentioned so that when you (hopefully) return, you will feel as though you have no choice but to give us a 5! I must thank you for completing the Medallia response survey as well. Your response was distributed amongst the housekeeping staff in particular because your feedback supported exactly what we are trying to instill in everyone on property. In general we typically receive positive comments regarding the interaction with our staff but I am in agreement with you, that we can always improve in this area. We stress the importance of acknowledging each guest because we understand that without our guests we serve no purpose. Thank you for commenting on the cleanliness of your room! This obviously has a huge impact as to whether or not a guest will return for another visit so I'm happy to have the opportunity to share this with our staff! Dear JayP203, I'm happy to hear you will be returning to the Best Western Merry Manor Inn next time you and your husband are in the Portland area! First I must apologize for the housekeeping issue you encountered. I thank you for your patience and understanding and appreciate you bringing this to our attention so I'm able to share it with our housekeeping staff. As we gear up for another busy season this type of feedback is crucial! Also, I must thank you for your feedback regarding our procedure of offering two complimentary breakfast vouchers for every qualified room. We are under renovations in our restaurant until the beginning of May, but once the renovations are complete and we have relocated our food and beverage operation back to the main dining area, we will be reviewing our breakfast program and making some necessary changes. Your feedback will be added to our file as we review our current procedures, so thank you for voicing your concerns! Due to the recent comments we've received regarding groups that we've housed, we have implemented a few changes as to how we accommodate our guests during these times. We have decided to bring in a uniformed officer to assist us with large groups in keeping any unattended children from negatively affecting another guest's stay. As you mentioned, it is the parent's responsibility to ensure that the behavior of their children remains respectful of others. Unfortunately we have found that this just isn't always the case any longer and we feel it's unfair to others looking for a quiet and relaxing visit. We love having large groups with children use our facilities and want everyone to have a great time and enjoy themselves, but it is our responsibility to ensure it is not at the expense of others. We hope these changes will be viewed as a positive step forward as many of the local hotels are implementing the same procedures. 这家旅馆让我想起了史蒂芬金的《闪灵》里的那个卢克酒店。帮我办理入住的女士一点都不友好。我的确要求了一个在顶层的安静的房间,结果我的房间真的超级安静!两天来在我这层一个其他的人我都没看到!这样很不错可是也有点吓人。这个周末过后我特别累。床非常舒服,可是第一晚凌晨3点的时候,竟然有小孩在走廊里玩捉迷藏!!第二天早上5点我又被火警警报器吵醒了!我真是累坏了。不过酒店有一点让我印象深刻,那就是这个价格竟然还提供了那么多便利设备,还不错。

Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us and for providing the constructive criticism that helps us make improvements to better service our guests! I'm sorry that your requested room on the third floor was quieter than you anticipated! We try our best to accommodate all requests and so when you request a quiet room we make every attempt to honor this. Maine tends to experience quite a difference in seasons regarding the occupancy levels at hotels. It is very typical that November through June is relatively quiet, yet July through October we wish we had another 500 rooms available for our guests! Due to the drop in occupancy level in the off season and the size of our property, we try to keep guests centrally located near the front desk unless specific requests are asked of us, allowing us to better assist our guests should they require additional amenities etc. I apologize for the fire alarm sounding at 5:00am. It is a very rare occurrence with the exception of scheduled fire drills, but we are thankful that our system operates effectively to maintain the safety of our guests and staff. Unfortunately we had no way of predicting the sump pump would go, but we were able to replace the unit immediately! Thank you for your feedback regarding the staff's reaction as this will help with further training. Again, I apologize for the way in which our building is designed- something we don't have a lot of control over at the property level! We do allow access to our on-site restaurant through the corridors, but also have a walkway connecting the lobby to the restaurant which is a much shorter walk. I want to thank you for your comments regarding your interaction with the wait staff at the restaurant. I have given your comments to the restaurant manager to use in refreshing our policies in regards to how room charges should be handled. I'm not sure which plastic chairs you are referring to at the restaurant as we do not have any plastic chairs on site with the exception of our patio furniture. We are however, under renovations in our restaurant which will be completed by the beginning of May so we are operating out of one of our smaller banquet rooms which is typically designed for meetings. We understand the temporary dining room does not offer the same ambiance as a typical restaurant but we did not find it appropriate to close down our food and beverage operation as there are very limited alternatives within walking distance for our guests. Again, I thank you so much for taking the time to share with us how we're doing. Without feedback from our guests we can only assume we're meeting expectations so I thank you for playing an integral role in our overall mission. Sincerely, Jessica Mooney General Manager
