We stayed at Thyme Out for one night in September after going to the Hilton Art Festival. It was a bit of a challenge finding the place as it was off road and it was so misty that day due to a cold front coming. We could hardly see what was in front of us as we drove. But the place itself was beautiful. The unit was very clean and tastefully done and it had everything we needed. We really loved the heater as we were able to set it at the perfect temperature and we had a very restful and quiet night. It is a great place to stay for a holiday but we were in Hilton more for a business trip so it being so off road was the only downside for us. Otherwise, it is a really lovely place.
We spent a very, very comfortable 2 nights in 1 of the delightfully decorated self catering units attached to the magnificent Manor house. Although attached one still feels very separate. Our welcome was warm and friendly and Nicky has thought of everything to make your stay a real treat. Beautiful views in this little piece of heaven just add to the ambiance.
One night is far too short for a visit to this wonderful little hideaway. Attached to a larger manor, it has all the conveniences of a hotel and even more so. We stayed in one of the self catering 2 sleepers. The small details had me bowled over; rose gold touches, beautiful crockery, a warm gas heater, electric blankets, heavy, fluffy towels and a divine bedroom tucked away in the ceiling. Bring your own supplies if you don't fancy driving some way on dirt roads to nearby restaurants and shops. Braai stand is supplied. Contact the owner before hand to get a location pin that will make finding this little treat, easier. A combination of modern interiors combined with the old fashioned charm of the Midlands. I cannot wait to go back!
Thank you Nicky for a perfect stay. The accommodation was lovely and the location is beautiful! It was exactly what I was looking for. Great for taking walks or go for a run, and also close to all the Currys Post attractions.
The fresh air, blue skies and hospitality of the KZN Midlands people will rejuvenate your rundown city soul. Take a slow drive, turn into a dirt road and explore the beauty. Ingrid and Tim will welcome you onto their beautiful family farm. The magnificent sandstone farmhouse perched high and overlooking the valley below. The self catering unit is delicately furnished with all the comforts you need for your stay with a very well equipped kitchen. A Weber braai was waiting for us with briquettes, firelights and gas lighter. The well sized bedroom is upstairs. The area of the bathroom is adjacent to the main house scullery and although you can hear the sound of people or activity if you are in the bathroom area we did not find this disturbing at all. Receiving Ingrid's message a day before our arrival enquiring our time of arrival and from which direction we will be travelling she made sure we get the directions. With a follow up message on the day of our travel to enquire how our roadtrip is going inidicated with how much passion and care she operates this quaint fine establishment. A must return on our list. …
