Homely comes to mind, yet more cluttered, It is quaint and sufficient. On the main road, so noise is unfortunately unavoidable, with rather noisy neighbors to add to it. The food is beautifully prepared. It is important to note that the room we stayed in had a shower and toilet IN the room. They refer to it as en suit but I think it's taking it a bit too far. This leaves very little privacy and can be rather awkward. Personally this is the main thing that would prevent me from returning. One the bill was settled our hosts were off, and a noted change in their demeanor was noted. I didnt care much for the fact that we were asked if the maid could strip our beds before we had even packed up. Check times are usually 9:00 at the latest and this wasn't even 8:30.

A bad experience

We arrived at the William George House B& B and were very upset to see the room we were offered, it was really tiny and very pokey with no privacy whatsoever (it opened virtually straight onto an outdoor area which went into the house's kitchen and which was used by the house owners and their staff). We asked if there was another room and were shown to a slightly larger room with twin beds, this however only seemed larger as the shower and toilet were actually part of the room - the toilet was merely hidden behind a folding screen! The decor was appalling - really tacky and old fashioned and it was in need of a complete make over. The whole place was cluttered with piles of artifacts everywhere and no space to place suitcases or bags. We were both really tired and were looking forward to privacy, peace and quiet and a rest. This place did not fit the bill and for the owners to be calling it 4 star luxury and to be charging R560 per night is scandalous. It was so poor that we decided to look for somewhere else straightaway even though it meant that we lost our deposit of R280! We would certainly not recommend that anyone use this B&B, their description leads travellers to think it will be a decent place. It isn't, it is a "rip off" and is pretending to be something it isn't. Mr and Mrs Evans December 2009…
