What a beautiful setting. We stayed in the standard cottage. They are all wooden cabins that are serviced daily. Attention to detail makes it just that much more cosy. 4 rusks, coffee, tea, 500ml milk, 1l coke, 200ml tab, 500ml bottle water. All replenished every morning. The units are clean and meet ever need for a traveller. Matches, new charcoal every day, fire lighter for the coals, cleaned braai, all utensils that you would need for a break away from home. We were two friends travelling together. The unit offers a sleeper couch and a double bed. If you are a family of 4 this unit is very tight. I would recommend rather getting the bigger unit. The outside deck is a great place with seating and breath taking views. The units are rustic, clean and comfortable. There is a small microwave and a gas top one plate stove, no oven. (But who needs one when you can braai!) Val met us at the unit and welcomed us. This is the second time I've stayed here and love coming here for the Barberon XCM MTB race. Its 850m from the start/finish line thus no need to take my car. The only negative I have about this place is the small fridge. We were only there for 3 nights and from my past stay knew that space was limited. There is a "freezer" inside the fridge but doesnt cope if you want stuff frozen. This fridge wont accommodate a family of 4 with 3 nights of perishable goods, we just got by with 2 people. But you can work around this, buy food in Barberton. Overall the main thing is this place is super clean, has an aircon for those super hot days and meets every basic need to make it a super stay!…
What a gem of a place this turned out to be. If you love relaxing with a stunning view and luxurious accommodation then this is the place to visit. The hosts are the friendliest people ever and the go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. For example: We travelled with motorbikes and because space is limited we had our vacuum packed braai packs, charcoal, wood, biltong, drywors and ice arrange beforehand. The kind hosts ensured all the goods were at our cabin by the time we arrived which was a stunning gesture if you ask me. There is a huge swimming pool to assist with the hot days but the view from the accommodation still remains my main attraction. Who doesn't love a raao with a view. I'll definitely go back again.
Good to relax your mind.. best rooms.. Perfect for a newly wedded couple.. Has a pretty outdoors shower, a jacuzzi in the room and has a beautiful balcony too... Its near the sheba road... Town, and hospital isnt too far from the rooms
The cabins at Oppikoppi are great. Lots of space, romantic interior and a great outdoor environment. Nice tour through the mountains (to a former gold mine city). The hostess Valmari is very helpfull and a nice lady to talk to. We had a pleasent stay here for 2 nights.
A nice comfy hotel near the border of Swaziland. We stumbled on this hotel "by accident". An accident with positive consequences. We had the honeymoon suite with a bath tub in the room and an outside shower. On top of it we had the braai with a one million dollar view. Warning: do NOT cross the border with Swaziland at Josefsdal to Piggs Peak with a 2WD.
