These hives are seriously amazing. Having driven past many times we thought it time to sleep in one. We just spent a fabulous 3 nights in Hive 1 and can't recommend it enough.
A perfect place to come back and relax in after a busy day amongst the vines.
What a place!!!! We stayed at Barn Hives for 3 nights and wish we stayed longer! The facilities are amazing! The bed is so comfortable and we had an amazing outlook to the vineyard (#5 hive). We loved the eco friendly design and Egis was so welcoming and provided some extra towels and pallets for the heater for our third night. We also dined at the Barnyard restaurant for lunch today (Friday) and the food was delicious! We had the scallops and sweet corn/polenta dish for entree and mains the two pastas. The food was real 5 star restaurant quality! The staff were amazing! We also picked up some freshly baked bread, but if you are staying for the weekend visit the shop and pick up some pasta & sauce or dessert... or more wine if you need to top up in your hive! A complimentary bottle of wine in the fridge was a great touch! We had a BBQ on the first night on the deck... definitely recommend with such a beautiful outlook. They even provide some blankets to enjoy the view as the sunsets on the deck and comfy chairs. Recommend picking up everything you need for food on the way so when you check in you can really relax so you don’t need to head out again. There is salt, pepper, oil for the BBQ, kettle, toaster, fridge/freezer and cooking utensils. Everything you need! No microwave but a little conventional oven if you want to toast up anything. The window upstairs provides a stunning outlook to wake up to and perfect to read a book whilst enjoying the sun. The pellet heater kicks out a lot of heat after about 10 minutes so you’ll definitely stay warm as the weather cools down. The wifi seems to work really well and we didn’t have any real issues with it. There is no TV in the accommodation, but they do provide an iPad but we had our laptop to watch a few shows. We stayed at Pullman Bunker Bay for 2 nights but wish we spent our money here for a whole week! Such unique accommodation! Highly recommend!
