We had a great stay at Indian Springs. The owners were very accommodating when I called a day before we needed a place to stay. The campground had some mud due to the latest hurricane and the staff were constantly working on ways to fix things. The campground was peaceful. We will definitely stay again!
I just had a wonderful stay at Indian Springs Campground in Hickory, NC and I happily give them a 5 star review. This is quiet no frills camping. No pool, no camp store, few amenities but still wonderful camping. We had a very nice, large pull through site with full hookups (minus cable). We were in the area visiting family and daytripping to the mountains and it was just perfect. It's a small family owned campground with about 30 sites I believe. The owners are fantastic and checked in on us to see how we were doing and if there was anything we needed. We had zero issues. Water/power/sewer all perfect. The campground is very clean. You just can't beat the location very close to the interstate yet far enough off the road that you are secluded and it's very quiet. They have horse shoes, basketball, swing set, ping pong table, a small fishing pond and beautiful trail to the river. We enjoyed the laid back, quiet weekend. Not to mention it was very affordable and more than reasonable. Check-in was a breeze from a friendly helper. Every campground is different and this wasn't our usual place with loads of stuff for the kids but we enjoyed it nonetheless and we stay again. Thanks for everything and for hosting us so wonderfully!…
This is a small, quiet campground nestled in the foothills. They offer a variety of activities. There’s a short nature walk to a stream, a playground, horseshoes, a catch and release fishing pond and more. WiFi and television reception were good. Spots are level. Laundry is available. The owner was very friendly and helpful. There are no bathroom/shower facilities. The road leading to the campground is steep, unpaved and a little rough. We had no trouble but be aware. For these reasons I rate it a 4 instead of a 5. Cash and checks only, no credit cards.
Don't let the locked gate or short fairly steep dirt road discourage you, this is a neat little campground. Friendly staff, clean area, playground, walking path by the river. Price is right at $30 but bring cash, they don't take anything else, at least when we were there. We would stay there again.
