Excellent stay for two weeks. Red Squirrels and Jays visited the garden every day. The cottage was very comfortable and clean. When a water tap was sticking it was fixed immediately. We had great weather and the owner & staff were excellent to deal with.
We've stayed here a few times and, this year, spent Christmas in McHugh cottage. On arrival there was a Xmas tree in the lounge..a nice touch. Surprisingly there was a wifi hub ( a recent addition) but this was knocked out of commission by a freak lightning strike! It's not the sort of place where you need Wi-Fi considering the great local scenery and the abundance of wildlife. The dog loves the gardens, the kitchen is more than adequately equipped to cook a full turkey dinner and all the trimmings and the whole place makes you sad to leave. I can't agree at all with the previous comment and my only disappointment is that I can't afford to live there full time. Thank you to the owners for making our Xmas special
Cottage looked lovely in pics but in reality not so good. The smell of soot was ridiculous, I have a coal fire so know this is not normal!! Garden not enclosed as led to believe, cottage was clean on surface but walls were in dire need of a paint, carpet needed cleaned, bed was uncomfortable, toilet door didn't lock, didn't have usual holiday cottage touches - so disappointed, that's our holiday spoiled!! owner wasn't interested - have our money!! think twice about booking here :(
